Why do we see foreign women who have married Turkish soldiers entering the country, yet we don't see Turkish women who have married foreign soldiers?

I guess because soldiers travel, it’s sometimes common for them to marry women they meet abroad during their service. I don’t think many foreign soldiers go to Turkey, so that’s why.

It’s the same here with American soldiers, some of them marry Filipino, Japanese, sometimes European women that they meet when they’re stationed abroad. But most American women don’t meet soldiers from other countries.

Turkish history is basically a history of Turkish men marrying foreign women. That’s why, despite originally emerging as a people with almond-shaped eyes, there’s hardly any trace of that appearance left today

Yes, I’m Turkish. Turks still mostly marry other Turks, but if a Turkish person is going to marry a foreigner, I’d say it’s about 95% likely to be a Turkish man. The reason is cultural: Turkish society is patriarchal and Muslim.

Actually, religion is usually the main barrier. My female cousin married a German man, for example, but only on the condition that the German man was Muslim

Most Turks are Muslim. Muslim men can marry women of other faiths. Muslim women are forbidden to do so.
