GUYS What do you like to get as gifts?

I have this guy friend of mine whose birthday is coming up this Sunday and I have NO idea what to get him. I usually don't like to go for mainstream gifts like perfume, watches, wallets and whatever, but I have no clue what else I can get!
I know that gifts are something that is subjective and each person has their own preference, but still maybe if you guys tell me what you would like, then I can get an idea about what other options are out there.
Girls, feel free to give me ideas as well if you ever gave your guy friends or boyfriends interesting gifts.

My order of priority in gift buying would be something like this:

Meaningful
Useful
Practical
Fun
Decorative

The ideal gift is meaningful. It is more than the sum of its parts. However, if you can't get something meaningful then get something useful, something that they need.
If you can't get something meaningful or useful then get something practical, something that will at least serve a purpose and won't go straight in the trash. This might be where your mainstream gifts come in.
If you can't get any of the above, get something fun. Most people will appreciate something with a touch of warmth and humour.
Finally, if all else fails then get somthing decorative. Something that looks nice and can be placed on a desk or in a home.

Different people will have a different order of priorities but this is how I see it.

Think back to conversations you've had with him and you should be able to think of something that he'd like. Gifts are always best when they're tailored to a person's interests. For example I told my friend I loved movies with Michael Cera, she somehow remembered months later and gave me a Scott Pilgrim bobblehead and a couple Michael Cera fridge magnets. Simple, yet it was really special

No one gave me gifts for my birthday. p🤐😓 But I have given them a lot. Try to make a gift by your hands. Don't by it from a gift shop. Make a beautiful birthday card for your friend with his picture on it. Write something that you love about him or write about the time with him that you will never forget. Making the gift from scratch by your hands gives the gift something very personal. Even if the gift doesn't look good he can't just ignore it because it's not about the gift, it's how much you love your friend and how important he is. There are a lot of arts and crafts tutorials available in the internet.

If you can't afford that, a nice watch.

If that's out of your price range, a nice bottle of perfume.

If that's too expensive, an amazon gift card or something for a Pizza place.

Gift him a gaming Console if he's a gamer 😜. Or gift him something related to his hobby or his favorite sports item, I'm sure you know about his hobbies and interests. ☺️

The problem is that he does not have any specific hobbies that might spark an idea of what I can get him. Like, he's not much of a gamer, nor has a specific like to a certain sport or something like that. He's a computer science student if that helps.
