I don't know much about it except that two of my friends are fans of it. What my one friend found super useful for him was getting a nice 3d printer so he could print his own pieces from plans he found on the web. If he is a purist though, maybe just find out which ones he specifically owns and find local game shops or use Amazon to buy figures.
