What is the most thoughtful gift you ever bought someone in your opinion?

So let me start off by saying I am a terrible gift giver. I have no patience so I give it to them way before the actual event (yes this even goes for my kid's birthdays and Christmas gifts) and I never wrap them cause I am awful at it. That being said, I do try to at least get them something that I know they would want/like. For my son, his birthday/Christmas gift was easy. He got a new xbox. My daughter got a laptop for her Christmas gift. For my boyfriend I gave him a working Iron Man helmet that opens, lights up and follows some basic voice commands.

So how about you? What was your most thoughtful gift you've purchased/made for someone?

I enjoy gift giving, and while I always pick items I know the other person will like, they may not always be the most thoughtful.

I say that, to say this - I have a sister who loves everything Alice In Wonderland. I had come across a very early copy of the book Alice in Wonderland - Through The Looking Glass and bought it for her for Christmas. I also got her a bookmark embroidered with her favorite flowers.

While it wasn't the most expensive gift I have ever purchased, it was probably one of the most meaningful.

A wardrobe full of new clothes after they lost it all in a house fire.

I bought my friend an MP4 player, a Pink Floyd t-shirt, and wired headphones. (I know these are old things, but I think old things are more valuable and still usable; a phone isn't everything.) I filled the MP4 player with Pink Floyd songs, put everything in a box, and wrote her a note saying how much I love her and wishing her a wonderful year. I also put a few chocolates and a poem inside. She was very happy when she received the gift.

I'm great at giving gifts and I like planning. Personal gifts are the best, I think they're more meaningful. I've created personalized videos for people sharing our favourite memories together.
