Are Teddy Bears good gifts?

I've always wondered this. I'm a 21 year old male, and I was hanging out with my fellow 21 year old male. He dragged me off to some gift store and started looking at teddy bears for his girlfriend.

Really? At 21 years of age I would imagine a girl would like something else. Are teddy bears good gifts? What age (if any) do they stop being good gifts?

Depends on the bear and the lady.

My mom got a huge bear from my dad about 8 years ago and she hated it and I quote "I hope he didn't spend a lot of money on that bear, I didn't want a bear"

I think it's cute but when I'm 36 yeah that would seem a little old.

At 21 eh depends on the girl...I would want something with it...like a Teddy Bear isn't enough at that age. It's a nice gift but hopefully it doesn't end there..

I'm seventeen now and still think that's a cute gift but can I have a necklace around it's neck too. Just to say "i'm mushy for you but like to give you something adult too"

I am 24, and loved when my boyfriend got me one for my birthday.

Age has nothing to do with taste. Yes, we grow out of some things, but why would you want to grow out of something that feels soft, and warm? Also, I like who it came from (my boyfriend).

Teddy bears are more of a "Go To" gift when you are not sure what to get, and you know that will make them smile.

Perhaps, you like to be more original, but that is you. Other people should be appreciated for trying their best.

A few years ago, I took my niece to Build-A-Bear and there was a couple there putting together a bear for the girl. That was cute. I would do that with my boyfriend lol.

I have stuffed animals that my boyfriend won for me at an amusement park. They hold a lot of meaning for me because of the memories attached to them.

A random teddy bear is a sweet gesture, and I would appreciate it, but I would rather have something more meaningful.

I think it's a great gift no matter the age. It also represents a lot too. Teddy bears, dolls, action figures etc all represent our childhood and I think it's crucial that as adults we keep that little kid in us alive somewhere, it allows us to see life with a different perspective. Teddy bears for women can bring back memories of getting tucked in by mommy and daddy at bed time and hearing her favorite bed time story of the knight in shining armor saving the princess. Of course there is a guy version of this too. The simplest gifts are often the greatest and most profound.

Maybe on Valentine's day along with some flowers and chocolates. Other than that I don't think I'd get a girl a teddy bear. Too generic and a little infantilizing.

I'd rather get nothing because a teddy bear will just take up space in my closet. I'm not greedy or unappreciative but yeah teddy bears are only appropriate if you're at a carnival and won it.

I personally think that they're cute at any age.

One time my friend and I went to Build-A-Bear to make our friend a bear and there was a guy in his twenties making a bear for his girlfriend. I personally thought that it was incredibly adorable. I wish someone would make me a bear. Ahah.

But yea, I don't think there is an age limit.

But of course this won't apply to every girl out there.

It really depends on the girl.

Some don't like stuffed animals at all.

Personally I am a huge fan of stuffed animals that are either big or really fat. My boyfriend bought me a Pikachu stuffed animal that's about half the size of me and it is the most awesome thing to snuggle with.

I'm not really picky about gifts and I wouldn't say there's a certain age where teddy bears stop being good gifts, but I would much prefer him to spend his money on something more interesting like one of my exes got me a pink swiss army knife haha. I would love if a guy got me some new drum sticks. Maybe if she plays guitar, some cool picks or if she draws some art supplies. I like stuff more personalized :)

I personally do not like them, I mean it's a gift, I won't be upset, it's the gift and the thought that really matters. But I think stuffed animals are just a waste of space unless a child really enjoys them. But what would a grown woman do with a stuffed animal?

I actually have one that's from an ex, it just collects dust, I would never be rude enough to get rid of a gift that someone has put thought, time and money into giving me but it's at my parents' place with the rest of the random things I don't need or really have any use for. It's a nice gesture but completely useless and there are tons of other better gifts and ideas to use for adult girlfriends

I think that teddy bears are cute! But they should come with a little something extra example a teddy holding a rose or a teddy wearing a necklace:) Its not the age that matters its the length of the relationship and the meaning behind the gift.

A teddy bear doesn't have big broad shoulders and a stout penis. She wants grown woman gifts paid for by a grown man. Diamonds! Gold jewelry! Purses! Shoes! A day with your credit card! If she can't get a good f***ing out of it she wants nice things.

It's a sweet gesture but I honestly wouldn't appreciate it. I'd appreciate the fact that he thought about me but I would question his judgement in giving me something so useless. I'd rather have a bouquet.
