I don't think this is the kind of question you should be asking on a site full of random strangers. For one, we are not psychologists nor do we understand the subconscious mind and you cannot make sense of a dream by analysing it as if it's come from your conscious. Even a psychologist wouldn't be able to give you a definitive answer because no one can say for sure why our subconscious plays out in certain ways, they can only speculate but if you're really concerned a psychologist might be able to help you explore it. There is a site called Justanswer where you pay experts to ask questions and they have a lot of qualified people on there so it might be a good place to try as it's cheaper than seeing one in person.
Also, realise that sometimes we play out our fears in our dreams. Haven't you ever dreamed of being late for work, or turning up somewhere in your underwear? Those are our insecurities being played out by our subconscious...it could be as simple as you fearing losing your gf and this is your subconscious mind's way of playing that out and helping you to deal with it should it ever happen.

Personally I think dreams mean nothing. I'm not in to this fluffy crap that dreams have meanings or foretell anything. If you have bad dreams, you could be under stress and your subconscious has let loose to come up with things that make you feel bad. It's what you think in your waking state that means more than what you're dreaming about as far as I'm concerned. You shot her, you woke up, you felt bad. The same feelings can happen if you dreamt that you drove off a cliff and watched you and your car plummet to the ground. Dreams can be scary, but that's it. If you're constantly having bad dreams, it's a sign of stress and to me, nothing more.

There are many different approaches to dream interpretation- it's not an exact science. However, the most common interpretation suggests that this signifies there is some conflict in your relationship at the moment. Don't worry, it DOES NOT mean that you really want to hurt them. It could be your subconscious expressing feelings of frustration towards them or just towards your life in general. Or, you could be one of the people whose dreams have little or no meaning at all, in which case it is just a random figment of the imagination. I wouldn't be worried.
and also Dreams are the subconscious that we cannot see during our waking hours. Dreams are a reflection of what is going on in real life. Perhaps you are going through a trying time. Your dream doesn't mean you want your spouse dead, but maybe you have some underlying anger that has not been addressed. Is there something, she makes you murderously angry?
