Girls: How often do people tell you you're pretty/attractive?

I'm just wondering because I think all girls have been called pretty or beautiful at least once in their life.

I get called either really beautiful/gorgeous (occasionally) or nothing lol. Like - this woman at an event randomly grabbed my shoulders, told me "you are the most beautiful girl i have ever seen. God bless you." and left while I just stood there in shock. I got a similar response from the guy I liked and a few others I liked/was friends with and from a couple female friends (randomly/once when I asked). Otherwise I don't really get compliments like that, idk. I'm kind of striking not conventionally beautiful I think so it makes sense - am happy with what I do receive/am almost never called unattractive, thank God.

Eh... I don't hear it to my face very often, but people say it a lot when I'm not around, or to other people. Like my friends and boyfriend will show me texts a lot of the time where someone was saying I was really pretty or cute. And sometimes I overhear people saying it.

But not a lot of people say it directly to me, so I get confused. I feel like they're just using it like a "generic female compliment" and don't really mean it. They just don't know what else to say. :P

I don't get told I am pretty or attractive just every now and then I do, but I don't like the number of people that tell me I'm beautiful I don't let that determine my beauty or my worth to someone. I used to be insecure, but I'm not anymore, and I don't compare myself to other people all that's doing is beating yourself up inside.

Never. The way I see it girls usually get called pretty or beautiful randomly either because, well, that's just how men usually are, or because someone thought "I'll enlighten her day today" or something. Almost never happens with guys the way I see it. I'm also fairly unattractive to begin with anyway so no one even has a reason to say so.

I mean, my boyfriend compliments me often. Other than that, from other people, it's not very common. But still happens every now and then. I think the last person besides my boyfriend to actually call me pretty in person rather than based off of a picture I put up online was my mom, several months ago xD lol kinda sad.

I was swimming in a pool late at night once and a girl told me that she thought I was really pretty. .. she also told me she liked women... also a stranger came up to my table once and told my husband to take care of me. . And recently when moving.. I hired a mover and the guy pulled me to the side and said my husband was a lucky man... im guessing he meant that I was pretty

I get complimented by my family and all my friends' parents which is really weird. Some of my friends who are girls tell me I'm pretty but in real life I've been complimented less than 10 times by guys ever. A lot of people stare at me but don't say anything and my friends tell me it's because of my resting b! tch face but I just don't think I'm that pretty. Most of the people compliment just to suck up to others.

@Update Too many to count but I think people over compliment me. I get most of the compliments from strangers, clients, relatives and friends. My family members don't compliment me on my appearance much because my personality is more important to them. I find my family members to be more substantial than most people.

I honestly don't really know if i am pretty but i've heard a lot of people saying that. I am often told that i a pretty by my family. And friends. Even my classmates and professors in college told me that. I've heard it from my students as wel and from my boyfriend, he tells me im beautiful every single day. Lol i feel lucky. A few times a week lol because I'm a barmaid so I obviously get the odd "oi oi pretty thang!" Not that that is much to go by, I think they're like it with most of the barmaids haha. All banter I guess. When I'm out I usually get compliments from strangers but I barely go out haha

I go partying a lot and yes I get hit on a lot and get called pretty. But during my normal life, at work or just in public, no never. And I also noticed that very often when they tell me I look good, they are starring at my boobs, so I think they actually want to say "you look fuckable" more than "you are pretty". Don't know whether that's good or not :s.

I love my boobs though...

Probably once or twice a week usually from guys I want nothing to do with lol and then my guy friends tell me every once in a while and try to be non-awkward with it with something like "umm.. you know you don't look that bad today".. you don't look THAT BAD lol or "you know.. you can clean up pretty nice" or "you can look very beautiful when you want to" like umm ok thanks I guess haha.

I get told that by children, middle-aged and older people, my friends and my family members... Never by a guy near my own age. The closest I ever got was when I was explaining why I don't have a boyfriend, I said, "I look very young for my age" and the guy said, "which is a good thing".

In real life, no one really. I give off this isolated vibe so people hardly try to approach me. My friend has told me that some guys in college like me but they don't really approach me. Though they manage to complement me through text lol. And when I talk to new guy on Facebook (who belongs to my school or college) they always mention that I am beautiful, attractive or hot. I really don't know then why I am lonely since last 18 years.

my first, last and longest boyfriend for three years, the first person i dated, the first person that asked me out, the first person i had sex with.
and probably i will never have another boyfriend again as i am somehow not preferred..
apart from that, only girls told me i am pretty so i can feel confident/ or just as a consolation prize when i all the time have platonic loves.

A very pretty childless  English  professor said if she had a daughter she would never give her hand to me in marriage by accusing me of being ugly and mentioning that every single chap in the school looks better than me. . All this for chatting and giggling with a couple of girls while enacting a scene from "The Merchant of Venice".
