+1 yI love males much more than female vocals. I sept with Elvis's voice when I was like 4-5 and I loved it because it was too deep I could feel it like a cloud around me it made me feel safe. All the bands that I like use deep male voices mostly. some symphonic metal bands use some beautiful female voices too but the main vocals are still male vocals.

female singing can be very beautiful but it never has the power that the male vocals can unleash.
See Bocelli and Maria callas as examples.
Bocelli
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5cF5GGqVWo
Maria
when Bocelli sings it's like a powerful roaring river. when Maria sings it is almost like a calm silent lake or river under the moon. The feelings are different and both are beautiful like the same river in two different times of the year one harsher and one calmer. Personally in a usual day I prefer Bocelli to Maria's version because that one makes you a little down.
Wagner couldn't make all those Majestic Operas without male singers to unleash that power through the melody and the heavy basses that he used.
Music and arts in the whole is not all about being pleasant it's about the power of expression. being pleasant is a part of it and it's partly subjective.01 Reply- +1 y
You do realise that light timbres can be poweful too right? In opera the women just don't sound powerful because they use head voice exclusively. Hayley Williams for example has a gorgeous tone and a poweful voice. I know it's a matter of opinion but dark timbres just sound horrible to my ears.

+1 yBoth male and female singers are good depending on what type of music you're into. I love male singing voices they are so cool and sexy. I think maybe because you're a guy you won't find them as nice as I do. Some guys enjoy them too though.
01 Reply- +1 y
Nah it's not coz i'm a dude. I mean it's not as if I find female voices sexy. As a singer myself, I'm speaking purely from a technical point of view. In the world of opera, tenors (the highest male voice type) are the most sought after voice type. So it must be because a lot of people just find a higher voice and lighter timbre more pleasant to listen to.
6.4K opinions shared on Other topic. Some male singers are really good like Nick Jonas. It depends on the song. Some songs are better suited for females and some songs are better suited for males.
03 Reply- +1 y
Did you seriously just say Nick Jonas is a good singer?
- +1 y
That's fine, you can like him and his voice but you can't say he's a good singer (at least from a technical POV).
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI prefer female voices like these:

Waaay too breathy, not enough power. Usually a good indication of bad vocal technique.
Opinion Owner+1 yWhat, you mean like Opera?
- +1 y
Are you saying that opera singers sound breathy? Or are you asking if I think vocal power = opera style?
Opinion Owner+1 yI'm asking if you think vocal power = opera style?
- +1 y
Nah, vocal power doesn't mean you have to sing opera style. Just that you sing with good tenchique and a clear tone so it doesn't sound breathy. Look at Hayley Williams from Paramore for a good example of this, or Beyonce or Sia.
Opinion Owner+1 yWell, I kinda prefer electronic and synth music ;)

+1 yI feel a lot of male artists today have much stronger vocals then women
05 Reply- +1 y
That's so wrong. Which male singer (alive or dead) is as good as beyonce?
- +1 y
Well yeah nobody is better than her because well she's Beyoncรฉ, but the rest suck
- +1 y
Kelly Clarkson, Hayley Williams, Cassadee Pope, Demi Lovato, Christina Grimmie, Madilyn Bailey, Birdy, Leona Lewis... so they all suck?
- +1 y
Its not so much that they are bad, but they just rely so much on back tracks and autotune
- +1 y
Ummm none of the above singers use autotune and if they do it's not significant because I've heard all of them live and they sound exactly the same as on CD. So which male singers do you think are anywhere near as technically good as those women AND sound the same live? The answer is NONE. Maybe some obscure male opera singers but you wouldn't know them.

+1 yI'm actually the complete opposite! :p I'm rarely a fan of female singers and very much prefer male vocalists. :p
01 Reply- +1 y
But a dark timbre and low pitch is just so ewww to listen to lol. Like it sounds really dull. Are you speaking from a sexual point of view or a purely artistic point of view? I mean as in you only like male voices because they sound 'sexy'? I just can't understand how anyone would prefer a low pitch and dark timbre over a high pitch and bright timbre.
+1 yI prefer male voices/singers. Female voices often annoy me. Male voices are way more attractive in my book.
01 Reply- +1 y
Lol you're the exact opposite of me. I find (most) male voices annoying and dull.

+1 yThis guy's voice is amazing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTBs3vaVnvM09 Reply- +1 y
He's very average and his falsetto is very weak. I guess it could have been head voice on the high notes, but it was so weak that it sounded like falsetto. His timbre is also too dark, that's what I was saying about male voices, they're just not nice to listen to (imo).
- +1 y
P. S. if you wanna hear a male singer who actually sounds good, look on youtube for Nick Pitera - Already Gone/Halo Mashup.
- +1 y
Lol well I liked it. Probably because be sounds like the lead singer from Muse.
Also, thanks for the suggestion. - +1 y
Np :-) did you watch the video?
- +1 y
Yeah... I can see why you think he's good. Lmao
- +1 y
Lol i told you. One question though, do you think the guy you posted is bettter than him?
- +1 y
I know you will disagree and I'm certainly no music whizz but I prefer the voice of the guy I posted. I think his voice is chillingly beautiful to the point where it can be haunting.
The guy you posted is probably better though in terms of talent because he has a feminine singing voice and he's a male, don't know many male singers that can do that. - +1 y
Yeah I disagree about his voice being beautiful lol but that's just a difference of opinion. You're absolutely right though about Nick being leagues above that guy in terms of skill and technique.
- +1 y
To each their own.
of course i'm not sexist... but the genre i'm into mostly (80s new wave) suits better male vocals... especially if they r quirky/geeky basically
08 Reply- +1 y
Is that a form of rock/metal?
- +1 y
I think female voices are better for punk or any genre of rock. Paramore for example.
- +1 y
i don;t know them... LOL
i'm good with 80s music particularly... anyway here's an xample of a new wave song with male vocals:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCj2I0EJ9PM
and 1 with female:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtP3aqnRz34
which 1 sounds better 2 u in this genre? honestly... - +1 y
Well both singers sounded really dull, is that common in this genre? Like they kind of sound like they don't even want to be singing lol. But the girl had a better voice even though it was dull and the vocal melodies were shit.
- +1 y
Oh god I could never bring myself to sing like that lol. Even if you were a great vocalist you'd never actually have a chance to show it in that genre.
- 5.1K opinions shared on Other topic.
+1 yNot all. Only a few male voices are appealing to me. They got to be real good to pull it off for a crowd. As long they got a good song to go with.
04 Reply- +1 y
Who do you like?
- +1 y
They are not well known. Elvis Presley was a great singer.
- +1 y
Elvis is the only famous one I can remember vividly.
- +1 y
He was okay but certainly not great, speaking from a technical standpoint.
- 1.7K opinions shared on Other topic.
+1 yI like both equally, really it depends on the music, or the style. Who are you listening to by the way?
01 Reply- +1 y
I listen to loads of different genres. But my favourite singers are Hayley Williams from Paramore, Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato, Cassadie Pope, Ronan Parke, Christina Grimmie. All of them have great vocal technique and control with nice tone/timbre.
For me it's all about genre. For pop I would say I prefer female, but is okay with male. But for country I would much rather prefer a male voice but I do enjoy so Carrie Underwood.
03 Reply- +1 y
Cassadie Pope?
- +1 y
But from a technical point of view, you have to admit that she's one of the best in the world. Have you seen her live? Watch her performance of Wasting All These Tears at the grand opry.
19.4K opinions shared on Other topic. I love a woman's voice and most of my favorite singers are woman when I am in a rough mode like working out and cruising profiling then the guys is good for that part
02 Reply- +1 y
Yeah I get what you mean. But if you're just in the mood to appreciate a good voice then it's always gonna be a girl vocalist because light timbres are more appealing than dark timbres.

I don't know who that is lol.

Oh my D: he's a music legend. Just check my take of him.
www.girlsaskguys.com/.../a9003-top-10-roy-orbison-songs - +1 y
No offence mate but he is SHIT. He's a very below average vocalist. You can say you like his voice from a subjective perspective. But from a technical perspective he is shit. His vocal technique, control and range is bad.
- +1 y
Hmm well i only watched the start of that 'pretty woman' video from your take. Link me to a video showing his range and strong falsetto?
- +1 y
I hate his tone and his vibrato is painful to listen to. The high note at the end of the song was okay tbf but wasn't that high. Was that the highest note in his useable range?
- +1 y
Wrong link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FATOxRfxNc
+1 ybest bands are male, michael jackson, elvis etc, dumb question
03 Reply- +1 y
Dumb opinion. Elvis was average as a vocalist, MJ was good but not great. You need to understand what great vocals are before saying stuff like that.
- +1 y
lol ur in denial, I could say anyone and ud say there shit
- +1 y
Nope, it's just that I know what a great vocalist actually sounds like and Elvis was nowhere near great. He was okay I guess, but certainly not great.
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI like both voices
03 Reply- +1 y
Which one do you prefer though? A deep and dull singing voice or nice bright sound?
Opinion Owner+1 yThe way you worded that was a bit biased, but honestly I prefer male singers
- +1 y
lol yeah it was kinda biased I guess, but mostly true.
Girls, do you find guys with raspy voices attractive?
