Why is concert merch so expensive?

Question

At a concert, it costs $50 just for a tshirt.
There was this jacket I really really wanted when I saw The Weeknd but it was $220. like wtf?
People already spend hundreds on the concert tickets and these singers already have millions and millions of dollars so why are the clothes so expensive? They aren't even worth the money most of the time, usually they are sucky quality

its simply because they can charge the price. supply and demand. especially at somewhere like a concert. normal black T-shirt can cost like £10 but slap a band logo it'll can go up to about £25-30. Now take that said T-shirt to the said bands concert and you're directly applying it to the target audience with near to no variation of people wanting other clothes. so they think hey! we could increase the cost of this £30 shirt with a band by double. people still buy it. so the suppliers do it. the end.

The sellers have no competition and they know there's a lot of fans at concerts that will pay a lot. Most people want to make as much money as they can regardless of their wealth. The same could be said about the Obamas. They're worth 20 million and still collect book royalties. Some might argue "but I thought Obama supports poor people." Why wouldn't he just give them the books for free? It's because they just bought a 8 million dollar house next to Ivanka.

It's kinda about the experience I'd say... seeing a great show and wanting to bring home something to remember it, or something that symbolizes that you went... "Ohh, I saw THAT band on THAT tour!"

Something like that... also a lot of album sales tend to primarily go to the label, so a lot of times ticket and merch sales go primarily to the artist, I believe. They have to make their money somehow...

Because that's where the bands actually make their money from a portion of the ticket sales but mostly from merch. Record labels usually pick up most of the profits from record sales to recoup the cost of recording and stuff plus extra. So the bands usually rely on touring to make money.

Artists make the majority of their money from live performance and merch sales now, due to music piracy. Fact  ...(I'm a musician myself, and sat through a lecture from a Sony employee at college.)

because the artists know that some people will buy it. most artists and concert promoters split or share the profits here so they jack up the prices so that they can each get "theirs"

its cuz the singers (or whoever's performing/doing the concert) wants money, the stadium needs some money, and all the people with the performer want money. and i know what you mean, my girlfriend and i went to go see drake perform quite some time ago cuz we won't tickets and his stuff was over the top expensive too and it wasn't A+ quality either

Because some people are suckers for anything with their favourite band/TV show/movie on it. You can almost certainly find it cheaper online, or just get one printed up yourself.
