Do girls find marines attractive?

I'm in my senior year of high school and I'm in the delayed entry program. I don't really have much friends since I broke up with girlfriend so I guess I'm quiet yet very confident type of guy. Every time I'm asked what I want to do after high school I tell them my ship date and how excited I am to become a marine. And every time they will have absolutely nothing to say. Sort of like an awkward 'oh..' Do girls find marines attractive or is do they look at them as a guy f***ing up his life?

it's not that you're not attractive. usually when anyone mentions military they get reactions similar to that. many people don't know how to react to that, especially since we're in a war.

you probably wouldn't (or shouldn't) experience this as much if you're in a town with a big military base or something like that where going to the military is an ocurring option for a lot of kids there. Plus it's high school so yea many teens react to the military that way.

i grew up around the military and have no problem with dating marines (but I rep navy all day!). however I don't think I can marry one, because I know what kind of life that entails and I'm not ready to go back to that.

I think it's admirable when someone wants to do something like serve the country, but personally I couldn't date a military guy because I'd be way too worried about him all the time and not be able to handle him being away a lot and such.

However, there are def girls who will like that you're a marine so don't sweat it.

Well, girls probably see it as you not being dating potential.. Its very hard to hold a relationship with a military man, ESPECIALLY a marine, simply because they are at the forefront of every battle. shipped all over the world, or what have you... And Also, when I think marine I think "robot" lol, that branch is so strict, they mold and shape their cadets into emotionless bastar*ds... But that's just my opinion.
