Why do you keep hidden talents a secret?

Why wouldn't you share it and what are your hidden talents?

Here's why I keep a talent of mine hidden: I was with this broad for 5 years. At some point in that time, I picked up the hobby of brewing beer. I learned as much as I could about it. This broad however hated alcohol and anything to do with it and thought it was bad and kept trying to convince me what I'm doing is wrong. Said "if you bring your beer to a party, someone drinks too much of your beer, drives and gets killed, how would you feel? Wouldn't it be your fault?" And for some stupid reason, I thought there would be more crazy people who thought the same way, so it's no longer something I tell up front. It bugs me because I want to make a career and business out of it, yet I fear I'll be rejected just because of this thing I do.

Because I don't use it and I'm better than most but not good enough to compete with the best. I would share but it has become so degraded I'm not sure i can even still do it.
