We’re both black belts, he still trains as part of his workout routine but I don’t train anymore due to injury.

Nice, you have some pretty good level then. I did some Krav Maga but never really wanted to get belts. I did it for 3 years and stopped due to studies.

You went up the grades pretty fast. 4 years to become black belt seems short to me but I don't have any real reference. Isn't there a thing with Dans or something after the black belt which really separate the good ones from the really good ones?
