This is not even a close call for me. I am sure, beyond all doubt, that right after Adam ate of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, God punished him with a snowstorm.
There are few things in this life that I like less. As far as I am concerned we could start the year on April 1 and end it August 31 and go right back to April. You can cut out everything else and I will not shed a tear.
Give me the beach and the pool and long sunny days and nights filled with fireflies and the chirping of crickets. Give me baseball uninterrupted and unchallenged by the mindless violence of football.
Give me long long hazy days when you can just lay in the grass and look up at the sky and when you can still guiltlessly jump into the pool on a sweltering day. Give me the beach house and the boardwalk and the longest vacations of the year. Give me pretty girls running in the park.
Give me flowers in all their color. Give me glorious sunsets when sunlight is "liquid that you can drink" and early sunrises that are followed by torrid heat followed, in turn, by the glorious relief that comes with storms in which nature provides a fireworks display unmatched by anything you will see on July 4th. Give me freckle faced kids with ice cream melting on their hands as they savor the sweetest treat man has ever made.
Soon enough you will get your dreary sweater weather, your long silent nights, your chance to risk your neck driving in snow and your bone chilling cold and your long gray days when you never see the sun. Soon enough you will be going to work in the dark and going home in the dark and kids will know the joys of standing at the bus top in bone chilling cold as they remember those once seemingly endless days when life was not dictated by the school bell. Soon enough you will get all that.
Lucky you.
As you can tell, I don't hold particularly strong opinions on this issue.
Why are most people answering cold? I mean really? You prefer cold? Frezzing to death is better than walking around in shorts and a t-shirt? Really? Just... why how? I am confused! HELP!
Maybe they don't like walking around in shorts and t-shirts ;)
@bubble_tea But but but the alternative is cold and snow and many layers of clothes and... Ya I know some people like that more =D
Eeeeh…huh? What is wrong with you? If you're hot, that's it. End of the game. If you're cold, you can put on more clothes.
Your body produces heat. That heat needs to go away. In some rate. Electronics needs cooling. Cold is objectively better (because of how thermodynamics works) than heat. Like…how hard is to understand this?
And no, surprisingly enough, I really don't want to walk around basically naked and sweat anyway. I hate the sticky feel of being covered in sweat even if I'm not doing anything.
„But what if you! re cold?“ Then I put some more fuckin' clothes on! Simple.
And snow. It's unique, super nice and so on. You have weather without snow all the time. So fuck that, snow is awesome.
@Wolframium Yes you can put more clothes on to fight the cold, but then you are a walking wardrobe. I don't like that, but I really like to feel the warm of the sun. I understand why people like to feel warm I don't understand why people like to feel cold. It's such a more confortable sensation and cold even restrains your movements and makes any hit hurt twice as bad. It's walking wordrobe or this... No thanks.
I love summer clothes, make me feel free and I get to show and look at the goods they reveal. And the view? I take colours everywhere instead of running constantly any day.
Snow is fun yes no question, still the beach is more.
This is my opinion you can like the cold more. I am just surprised so many prefer it.
raining*
Eeeh…no, not really. At least not I or actually anyone I ever seen. So… This is completely fictional issue.
That being said, I know that some people and their body are „designed“ for warm weather. And sure, I have nothing against that.
No, no, you don't get it. I hate feeling cold and being cold. But! At the same time, I like cold weather. Because (this might blow your mind) in cold weather, I actually don't have to be cold. In hot weather, I'll be sweating my ass just because. Again. I don't understand, why is it so hard to get. It's simple concept, really.
Sorry, snowy view will always be better than beaches. Beaches are simplistic, for masses, everyone likes them, so fuck that shit. And guess what. Not everyone wants to reveal themselves.
And I am still baffled by the „hit“ part. Like…if someone hitting you, your problem is not the cold, it's that someone. And if you bump into things (then hit them back, MF see you and get in the way on purpose), then again, your problem is not the cold.
Thermodynamics is on my side. You can easily make heat. But you cannot just…take heat and…IDK…convert it into electricity or something. Because of fuckin' entropy (god, I hate that shit).
I tell you one thing, practical example of what I'm keep saying. For sleep, I need cooler air. If I'm sweating my ass by doing nothing, I will not fall asleep. Meaning, I sleep just fine most of the year, only in those fuckin' summers it's horrible.
And while we're at it: sweating is problem. Everything is soaked in sweat during summer. And I don't know what kind of psychopat has no problem with that.
If you want to say something about AC, then please, read that physics bit again. Besides, I cannot take my AC out. I'd need to walk in special (space-like) suit. Cold, dry air inside, 20 K below ambient. But…nobody makes those.
@Wolframium
I don't sweat that much so to me it's much more confortable to be in hot weather than in a cold one where I have to wear so much clothes. So even if you can not be cold I still fell so much more confortable in a sunny day. It's easy to understand.
I really do like the beach more, but this is personal preference. So much more alive!
The hit part is something as simple as huting yourself in anyway shape or form. If you are really cold just hugging someone and hitting their forehead with the tip of your nose hurts it's annoying. Getting your finger stuck somewhere is torture. Hit your pinky toe in furniture is hell. So yes cold is the problem!
Sweating a little more doesn't preent me from sleeping. I am warm, so why wouldn't I sleep well? Guess I am a psycopath. In winter you arrive at your bad and it's cold! You have to slowly warm it. t's so good when I get there and don't need that. I am warm all day long.
All this and it just gives more energy! You look outside, it's cold, it's raining, no energy in the air... bumer. Or you look outside sun is shining, you can put on confortable clothes, there is energy in the air! Ahhhhh makes me feel alive!
I agree with @thisismyopinion!
I take Hot any day! You are more free! Yes okay you may sweat like crazy but then you only need a shower or AC (or even shadow) to feel comfy again. You also have a heater for cold weather, but you'll need to be dressed for the cold anytime you decide to go outside! the feeling of so many layers suffocates me and many times snow can be depressing.
@caet234 Another high five!
@caet234 What freedom you're talking about? If it's hot, you're pretty much fucked. You'll be hot all the time, no matter what. If it's cold, you can make warm inside, as you like. And to be honest, it's much easier to heat up a room than cool it down. Many places don't have AC anyway.
Oh…you need to be dressed. How is that a problem?
Snow is depressing? Huh? What?
OK. You should move to Sahara or something like that. :-)
@ThisIsMyOpinion Well…good for you. I do and I hate that.
All of this is personal preference, I just don’t get how anyone would choose this.
I don’t have that kind of problems, I really don’t.
If it’s raining outside, it’s awesome. Snowing is much better though.
No, sun drains me as fuck. The heat burns, too much light blinds, it just sucks.
@Wolframium We have been arguing about this for too long now...
Let's just agree to disagree, each one just enjoys the weather they like the most and we all live happily ever after? Deal?
Sure, why not.
I acknowledge that some people should probably live in (for me) super hot areas, and I in cold darkness. :-)
Depends on how hot I guess. If we are talking desert hot, like you can't move without collapsing form the heat versus freezing Antarctica weather, if you are exposed to the cold you get hypothermia in a second, then I would prefer cold, as you can combat that with more layers, whereas when it's hot, you can only take off so many layers.
I'm so used to the warm climate that I might find it difficult to live in cold weather. Besides, it's a hassle to be dressing up & undressing multiple layers of warm or thick clothing.

Gimme cold temperatures all day haha.

plus cold temps give amazing scenes like this outside your door you know 😊
An ideal climate is one that never drops below 40 degrees Fahrenheit and never rises above 70 degrees Fahrenheit (with zero humidity).
However, between "too hot" and "too cold"--the latter is preferable.
I love to snowboard and ski and occasionally skate, and I can take cold much better than I can summer heat, so I'd say I'd prefer to live in colder weather.
Cold. Aside from me kind of liking the cold, it's easier to get warm in cold weather than it is to get cool in hot weather.
South Carolina is a pretty good balance. Not too terribly cold winter, then summer lasts a long time. I don’t mind the cold up north but I find the short summers unacceptable
I love hot and humid weather, but I need to see snow. Like in February alone got 101 3/4 inches of snow and down to -60F below 0F.
Cold. When in the cold, you can add more layers, but in the heat, there’s not much else you can do once you’re naked with a fan on.
Hot weather. I come from a hot country, so that's my environment.
I’m always cold, even in air conditioning, so I would live in hot weather.
I have lived 20 plus years in both AZ and WI. Currently in WI but moving back to AZ next year. The cold wind is painful. I enjoy being outside. I would rather sweat than shiver.
Depends how cold and hot. And for heat, the type of heat. I don't mind a dry heat, but I hate humidity! Humid or cold, cold please (if I have to pick lol).
Hot every day of the week! Mediterranean temperature is my kind of weather.
Cold.
In cold you can always put a jacket on and walk around
In hot weather it's very unpleasant to walk
not warmer than 25 degrees. i prefer cold, cause i can always just put more clothes on. there's no remedy against heat once you're naked.
I don't know what do I like. Cold weather fascinates me but at the same time hot weather is also preferred as I can stay nude.
Hot weather everyday, every week, every month, every year. I'd move to somewhere warm if I could.
Cold weather. Hot weather is where all the deadly snakes and shit live. No thank you.
Any of the people who chose hot weather want to switch places? We've been melting all winter over here.
Cold
I can stand the heat
Plus sun exposure can age your skin
I can always put another layer on when it is too cold.
