Yup, I skated Friday night and Sunday afternoon, actually. I rollerbladed a lot when I was a teenager and I played street hockey, and I played limited ice hockey on frozen ponds. Barely played street hockey again after I was 18 other than shooting around on my own, and the last time I did it I was 24 or 25, so it’s been a while. Just decided a month ago that I’m going to give hockey a serious go before I’m too old, I start lessons in two weeks, and I’ve been skating on my own 2-3 times a week since around Thanksgiving. I’m loving it so far, and I’m really excited to be coached on it and eventually join an adult league when I’m ready.
I taught myself to rollerblade in my cellar when I was 10, I did that before ever ice skating. As far as propelling myself forward and having balance, it translated very well from the rollerblading. Turning and stopping are different on ice, it seems, so I’m learning how to stop, first and foremost. I just want to be serviceable for the first day of training. I’d rather spend most of the time learning hockey fundamentals, not skating basics like simply being able to stand and skate forward. Friday night I had youth hockey players coming up and giving me tips on stopping, and then two other kids just learning asked me to show them how to skate, so my skills are in the middle somewhere, haha. I’ve taken a few falls since I’ve been back at it but it’s more when I try new things or experiment. I could just skate laps all day without falling, I can skate backwards too. So I’m pretty good for a newbie, but I have a long way to go by hockey player standards. But I’d say I’m naturally pretty good at it, by average everyday standards. I’ll know more in three months haha.

I’m Dutch. You kinda are forced to ice-skate at school (depends where you lives tho).
Anyway, I had to ice-skate a lot. Fell over a lot. I was incapable of moving at a speed of over a nautical mile per hour, but recently learned how to not fall over constantly when I was peer-pressured into ice-skating at my friend’s birthday
If you're a good roller skater, most likely you can ice skate. I've done it. It IS hard on the ankles, so if you've got weak ones, it'll burn 'em out. But I LOVED it and I'm in the deep, deep South. I'd do it again any day. And yes you fall. As much as you'd fall in roller skating if it were the first time you do it. You just get up and start over... It's exhilarating!
Yes, I used to ice skate as a kid! I was okay at it, learned to do a few tricks. I did fall a few times, but nothing major, and I enjoyed it back then!
Now, as an adult, falling actually hurts (one of the reasons I stopped riding horses, too; what once was no big deal now leaves me feeling sore all over the next day). So, I'm now scared to do it again.

Yes. As I child I went to figure skating lessons and I fell and hit my nose once and there was blood everywhere so I got traumatized.
Then I tried it again as a teen and it was alright hahaI feel like Bambi trying to stand on ice.
Its fun though, especially if its on a date and the guy is helping me along.Lol yes I’ve done it and I’ve fallen many times because I’m a klutz or accidentally dragged someone down to fall with me
I haven't. I would love to go sometime though, even though I'm 99% sure it'll end in breaking something.
I've done it and I never fell but got close SEVERAL times. It's so much fun honestly I had a blast. It gives you the sense of not being in control and you glide it's so much fun. 😊
Did it with the ex a few times. She was really skilled and I fell a lot.
Nope if I can't even roller skate then something tells me I'm not going to be great on the ice either
Yes. Made a total fool of myself. But a great time...
I used to play ice hockey so I've been on skates many times.
When I was young I loved to figure scate and I was good. We had a big pond and I would scate nearly every day until some one told me figure skating was gay and after that I never wanted to skate again.
Yes, fell many times and my ankles did not thank me
