Yea, it looks like a budgie (or parakeet as we call them here). I think they are native to Australia.
I never heard of a rose-faced parrot. But I looked it up and that does not look at all like a rose-faced or any other kind of parrot.
"doesn’t talk like a parrot"
Some budgies mimic and talk a little, but they are not nearly as good as some other breeds. If you want them to talk, you need to do regular training. They might pick up a few things on their own though, if they are exposed to it enough.
Looks like a budgie to me. I don't see any reason the breeder would lie since budgies are one of the cheapest birds available and any parrot will cost 10x more.
Seems like a cool bird though, I'm not saying budgies aren't great. I have a Senegal parrot, he whistles and stuff and dsoesnt talk too.
Senegal parrots are amazing😁did you get him also from a breeder? Yeah usually small species of parrots don’t talk. Only the ones like the amazon, African grey parrot.. etc
Yea my bird is so cool he Is very smart and friendly
Yes I got him from a breeder but he was much older than yours, he was already eating solid food. Budgies and Senegal can both learn to talk but I am grateful mine doesn't or it would just be annoying hearing the same thing 100 times a day. Meanwhile he's almost totally silent. I think budgies actually have the widest range of sounds and they can learn to whistle tunes very quickly
Looks like a budgie... my family owned one for around 10 years
