What would happen if instead of an alien invasion, we humans were the invaders of an alien planet?

There might be a chance that extraterrestrials do exist out there. However, unlike the technologically advanced stereotypes, what if they were primitive? What if the reason why we never saw aliens is because they are too primitive to have technology like spaceships. What if they are a hunter-gatherer society?

Imagine if we, the humans, come across their planet, see the natives' hunting and gathering traditions, and decide to take their land for ourselves. What if the aliens' spears, knives and arrows were no match for the humans' guns, bombs and nuclear weapons?

It would be just like colonialism again, only not just white people, but the entire human species will be involved. Instead of aliens invading Earth, it's the other way around; humans invading an alien planet.

We'd probably be defeated easily though.

Firstly, the human body is not made for space flight, at our current level of technology we can't leave the solar system without dying before we get there. It's why we can't even get a man to Mars yet, as the machine will get there in working order the human passenger won't.

Hence it would probably be our machines rather than us who would go to faraway planets. That means serious delays in communications, and in wars, comms is everything. Even AI can't help much in this regard, as human war tactics and terrain is what it will know; and will be down to luck if it adapts before destroyed on alien terrain.

Colonialism worked because there was a naïve element of the natives in adopting the invading foreigners as "people like us". In an alien world, this could not be the case as no other planet can have the exact same conditions as on Earth.

We'd have spacesuits. And we've also got guns and bombs. Do you think aliens with spears and arrows stand a chance against our technology?

Well i guess it would be a like British colonialism again, but it's extremely unlikely that we will ever visit another planet with intelligent life. At least in a time frame where getting resources from the other planet would be useful

I imagine it would go just as it does on earth. If they have resources we want they would claim the aliens are a threat and kill them.

That's what I am trying to get at. The reason aliens don't visit us is because they do not have the technology and we do.

And tbh, if aliens have visited us, then they would not want anything to do with us until we found world peace. If we already fight amongs ourselfs, then why would we spare them?

But this is a scenario that the aliens CANNOT visit us because do not have the technology. There's a higher likelihood we would visit them. And knowing human nature, we would most likely try to steal from them, since we have the better weapons.

I think we would but we either would make the Population scared of them or just not tell them at all. Also there is a big theorie on that the reason most alien movies make aliens seem as enemies, so it is easier for us to cope when aliens excist and it would be easier to see them as enemies, but this is probably not true

They wouldn't understand us, since English or any other Earthling language isn't their first. This is not Avatar or any other movie, how would they know if they cannot understand us? They'd probably draw their knives and bows and arrows upon seeing space invaders, as in us.

I ment with population, the human population. You got that right? And the other part was just some silly theorie i had heard. I think we would trick or deceive the human population by telling them there is no intelligent life or just making people scared for no reason for them. And if they are like that and are oegaboega, even then that does not meen we cannot communicate. Maybe not right away but we could teach them and the other way around if we wish. It depends on how they talk, if it is through sound then it should be possible to learn their langues. Humans have learned from eachother. And even if we cannot replicate their sound with our mouth then we can use machines to try to record and make notes about it, even if the way we speak back would be something like the google translate voice for them, i am sure we can make it work. If it is not through sounds or through sounds that humans cannot hear then i would not know what would happen.

No. Because Avatar had the Navi being able to speak English and they were extremely tall and capable of using technology. These aliens I speak of would be SHORTER on average than most humans, they cannot speak English and they would not have good tech. Plus, I find James Cameron to be rather arrogant and cruel.

Well, they only spoke English because years were spent teaching them English prior to the movie, as they established that humans came to the planet several years prior and have been there ever since. Because colonialism. I'm not sure how height is relevant, and the Navi's technology was bows and spears. Anything else they used was human technology that was either stolen or gifted, like how the French gave muskets to the native Americans during the colonial days.

They had poison that could stop a heart. These aliens I speak of do not. And there will be no understandings, since they cannot speak English like the Na'vi can. And I have no interest in the works of James Cameron due to his bullying antics.

That would explain why the aliens have not visited us. Because they do not have spaceships. We have a better chance of visiting them.

Yes, but that isn't what I mean. Those aliens are tall, speak English and use an advanced poison. These I speak of are shorter than humans on average, speak a different language and do not have advanced poisons.

Because primitive people tend to be shorter on average than the technologically advanced. And in reality, the aliens in their society would speak a different language than us. They would not be able to speak English like they do in yet another one of Cameron's awful films.
