Why don't people understand when you say you don't remember what happened to you?

I’ve been through similar, and yes it’s hard to remember.
there is a warning though, your brain does not shut it out, it takes it in and stores it.
Spookily the picture chose is very close to the one in my dreams.
mine is more Victorian mansion, nice browns.
the rooms along the corridor are the same.
Anyhow, have you been for professional counselling, all the stuff you are going through is building a lot of potential future problems and leakage.
as fellow mom suffer just treat her like a mental patient.
I completely understand what you mean, your brain actually suppresses traumatic events , and kinda wraps a blanket around the trauma so that you don't remember it , unless you go for therapy and they help you to retap into those events , remember and overcome it. I'm very sorry to hear about your situation I know what it feels like to have someone like that in you're life especially when it's someone so close , just stay strong and try to keep a positive mindset. 💕
Oh that's not even a 1/4 of the shit in my life I have physically abused mentally abuse sexually assaulted someone has attempted to kidnap me twice had three stalkers had half my family either lie to me steal from me or talk behind my back along with being socially isolated had not one but two alcoholic parents who were also drug addicts till I was 11.
that happens to me a lot sadly. and it's frustrating to say the least. my theripist has told me that it is normal to forget pieces of your past due to somekind of childhood trauma.
