there has been documented proof of some of these having existed, enough that the thought of the few others not documented not having existed at some point is more of a myth than the mythogoly behind such creatures. there is also anecdotal evidence that most if not all of these did/still exist in some way or another. take one subspecies of fae/fey/fairies for example, elves. very close to humans in height right (and in about 8 or 9 very issolated and different cultures/ethios/mythologies) , and able to breed in with humans. more likely they breed through as part of the human species.

they found the skeleton of an actual unicorn in the 90s (some old deep cave around the Europe/asia line) found skeletons of giants multiple times around the globe off and on.

Fairies. (Not pixies. Big difference.)

1. Vampires are evil.
2. Unicorns would be hunted to extinction if actually found.
3. Mermaids are one of my favorite, but our ocean’s filled with trash…
4. I believe dragons already existed and went extinct. (Not exactly like fairy tale ones, but similar.) Either way, humans would kill fairy tale dragons out of fear be they good, bad, or simply wild creatures.
5. Again, probably killed out of fear.
6. I simply don’t find Leprechauns as interesting.

I don’t think it’s a wish bc there is proof of all these things existing. Coffins dug up from like the 1800s wrapped in chains and a crucifix on it. Elizabeth Bathory. Mermaid footage you can find plenty of on YouTube, even sirens. Fairies are a big deal in Ireland, there’s even fairy forts/mounds. Video footage of unicorns. I have a leprechaun who works at my old job.

That's a cool question actually. You see, fairies can have different definitions since it's derived from fiction and non standardized folklore.
You can see it as "Tinkerbell", who can at most do mischief, but fairy can also mean fae or fae folk in general. That could include "Redcaps", "Spriggans", "Will o' Wisps", "Banshees" and more. If you're interested, have a look at the Feywild as well.
So yeah, if you mean pixies or water fairies, they're not very useful, but not too bad. If you include redcaps, will o wisps and banshees, hell no.
Take will o' wisps for example, they're tiny spirits that can travels in big groups and appear at a random village, fairly innocent on their own, but they're attracted to fear. They can swarm you and grow. Have a look here for example: https://youtu.be/_x8e1LyBiqE
