I did long ago but it wasn't very successful. I started with first week with like 20 subscribers. Then second with like 25. Then third with 30. Then six peeks into it and I got like 500 subscribers. But that is still shit by YT standards. When I quit I still had only around 10,000 subscribers. I also didn't use ads or anything. I had no interest in making money from it.

It was fitness channel. I was trying to tell fat people they don't have to torture themselves. I watched this show called the Biggest Loser and found out almost all the contestants regained their weight, as well as learning that they were only eating like 1200 calories/day, and dehydrating themselves like athletes to meet weekly weigh-ins. It wasn't sustainable to put it shortly.

So I made a channel all about sustainability. But it depressed me so much talking to people on there. They would share their channel with repeated lost attempts to lose weight and them crying in front of the camera and I wanted to cry too almost. Then I wanted to fix them -- like all of them. Each and every one person on my channel -- I wanted to make them slim with six-pack like me. But I couldn't.

There was this one girl and she was so sweet but she was sooooo fattttttt. Then I try to recommend changes to her diet and she said she lose period on this and that and I am like, "I have no expertise here. All I have is a desire to help people without the expertise." So I deleted the channel.

It was too much work, not fast enough internet here. Many uploads would just time out, plus what I was putting on wasn't much... maybe got 500 hits total before I called it quits, which was fine by me. I literally spent like one hour for each view over the course of a year.

I have always been tempted by this but through knowing friends and acquaintances who are heavily involved in YouTube I was shocked about the huge amount of effort that is involved.

I publish a few work related tutorial videos to YouTube but they are unlisted and only for distribution internally with colleagues.

If someone filmed your real life performance on a stage, weather it is singing, dancing., comedy or anything you wish to keep it to yourself, out of the net, good luck with that if someone else has uploaded your video without your consent.

One of my gigs was recorded and put to YT. I made several request to remove it. I went 3 times to my local police department and once to the department that issues ID cards to confirm that the man in the video is the same man asking to take down a video that was uploaded to someone elses account against my wish.

Cops dont have jurisdiction outside their own country or continent. Im not in the U. S where their data is. YouTube does not always easily remove videos that invade peoples right to privacy.

That experiance is the reason I will not create a channel.

I started one a while back. Not as a gig to make money, just as something to do for fun. It is hard to keep it up working overtime at an actual job though.
