I guess it depends on your personal preference and patience when it comes to living in such close proximity to people. That's the biggest draw back I've personally seen. Things that bother a neighbor may not bother me. This is true with both living conditions but for me is more common the closer you live to them and apartments can be close and may offer limited privacy. I guess you you aren't there for the long haul anyway it would be easy to just pickup and leave vs having to worry about selling the house or worry about it's upkeep apartments could be the way to go
Exactly
I would stay where I am. If I moved house now I would probably have to take on a mortgage and be in debt. Where I live now, is in a nice quiet little village next to the countryside. I’m mortgage free and have no debt. If ever I lost my job, at least they can’t take my home off me.
I wouldn’t get bored, no. Moving around every few years sounds like too much of a hassle. And with my previous experience with apartment living, I would rather not have neighbors so close. Plus most apartments limit what you can cosmetically change- if you own a house, you could alter your space in anyway you choose. Not to mention, a home is an investment. You’ll have more money in you pocket to use on hobbies to cure your ‘boredom.’
It’s about something else entirely. Having assholes on top of assholes is claustrophobic for me… plus underground parking freaks me out, plus having people crammed together freaks me out, plus no privacy.
Forget about the neighborhood…. I want less neighbors and more elbow room. (& not hear people flush their toilet or fart through the walls)

I love moving often cause I get bored easily living in one area. I've lived here for the last 3 years and I'm dying to move again. Hopefully will at the end of the year
It sucks if you have bad neighbors when you own a house. It is not easy to move like if you live in an apartment. But I figure you will get more lame ass neighbors living in an apartment than in a house.
Exactly!
Let's just say, it depends. If you like socializing and communicating, or are an extrovert by nature then sure you would like apartments. But to me, I hate over friendly neighbors and tbh I hate socializing and communicating, to just anyone except for family.
I'd prefer to buy a house and stay there. I don't like moving. It is a hassle, and I can ignore neighbors living next door easier when living in a house and not sharing a common wall than in an apartment. Plus if they mess up and burn down their house it won't burn mine down, unlike a connected apartment.
And owning a home is actually cheaper than renting one of the same size in the same area.
I also like to be able to do what I want with the property.
I hate moving, it really sucks... had to move around a lot for a few years, and it was terrible. Besides I have big trees, to hide any neighbors and they are kind of far away anyways.
When I end up moving out after graduating from college, I’m gonna be looking to get a house. Mainly because I would like a garage to house my tools and have a good space to work on cars and such. That and I hated living in my old apartment. Almost never had parking or it just constantly smelled like bad weed in the hallway.
House is way better apartments SUCK really bad you never know what kinda weirdo you have owning a house you never have to worry about weirdos really in your vincinity in your apartments they are so close to you you just never know who your neighbors will be or the inconsiderate loud noise they can make. I hate apts
One of teh advantages of owning your home is that you can change it whenever you want... take down some walls, paint a different color, replace carpet with wood or vinyl flooring. Owning a home is never boring.
We live in my great-grandparents' house so it's all I've ever known as home. We visit the city often enough and I've seen apartments (from the outside). But I don't think I'd want to do that other than like for a summer or something.
You can as easily get stuck in a apartment for years. So the question should be renting or buying. Because selling and buying another isn't as easy as just renting a new place.
You don't have to be stuck in an apartment for years. Lease is up you can leave where as a house you have to sell and blah blah. Yeah I get what you mean but I can't edit my question
Right , I forgot about that. No amenities though. I feel apartments have more perks maintenance and amenities. I don't know if rented houses have that
Hogwash, it’s always about the location-price 💰
Or Price💰-location. This is piss-poor attempting at marketing data collection
Definitely location
Thats why im extremely picky about where I choose to build a house because I'm never leaving it. But if i did, i’d get a summer house elsewhere
Yes and when I see the next best thing I'm ready to move again. There's this luxury apartment I'm fixed on. Young professionals, upscale neighborhood, the minute you step outside so much to do for a professional mature crowd. Still young yet hip
Yea the next best thing has never been my style. I just like to take a project and fix it to my liking rather than move on and start over
I don't think I would get bored living in the same neighborhood, but I want to move in a apartment with some friends, because it's cheaper than a house. I also think well decorated apartments are much prettier than houses.
Not really I have been staying in same home since 11 years. In second floor for 4 years and in ground floor for 7 years. And I haven't been bored.
I don’t mind moving, but I also loved the area I lived in before I moved it was much safer and calmer.. lol
With an uncertain housing market, I live in an apartment.
Yeah the market is sketchy right now
I'd take an owned or rented house over an apartment pretty much 100% of the time. It's not close.
I would rather get a new job than move back to the city tbh. The last two years have caused me to almost completely change my plans for the future.
No. It’s more privacy. It’s peaceful… you can do what you want to them home. If you want to rip a wall out, go for it. So many more benefits to owning a home
I definitely get your point, but I’m just done with renting. I do like to travel but I’m ready for a place to set up home
I think an Apartment is better and worth trying to live in one with bills and rent included
No, I know my neighbors now and I like being around people that I know.
I've lived in the same place since I moved out at 16 so yeah, its not really a neighborhood though cause it's in the middle of the forest
I hate moving. If I want to go somewhere else, I can go on a vacation.
Difference? I have a house and I can remortgage and sell in a few years, not really a big deal tbh?
I like the apartment. Not having to deal with mowing the lawn etc. downside snow day got clean your car. The house gotta clean the drive way.
I still live in the same area that I grew up in.
I’d rather have a home
A house is better in many ways.
Moving sucks and is expensive.
I doubt it.
