Did you forget about Dayligt Savings Time"?

Forget? Oh, how I wish I could. At the start of 2020, I was told that Illinois was considering joining Arizona in abolishing Daylight Saving Time (and it is "saving"; just one "s"). I was thrilled- then I looked closer, and discovered that our state Congress was doing just the opposite- trying to make it PERMANENT.
You know how there are laws against driving drunk, but often people will have one or two too many, and still drive themselves home, and be perfectly fine, and think the danger's overblown?
You know how there are laws against driving too fast, but often people will do five or ten miles an hour over the limit, and be perfectly fine, and think the danger's overblown?
You know how there are rules against driving tired, but people often ignore them, and be perfectly fine, and think the danger's overblown?
You know what it looks like when a sedan doing 45 hits a patch of ice and slides into a knot of schoolchildren waiting for a bus on a winter morning? Neither do I, DESPITE Fred Upton's best efforts, and I have no interest in doing so- DST kills thousands of people and costs billions of dollars every year, and fatigued driving in dark winter conditions would probably lead to my having to watch people die. I wrote every last member of the Illinois House (the Senate already having passed the bill), and instructed everyone I ran across to do the same (at least a few did), and luckily enough, the bill died- but it was a scary couple of weeks. Then Covid Madness began, and everything else was forgotten, but when I was considering where to run to, I put SERIOUS thought into going to Arizona (which doesn't do DST).
I, however, set my clocks by the SUN, and simply have to deal with all of the rest of you changing your clocks twice a year with only the foggiest notion of WHY. Don't believe me? Ask people you pass on the street why they do it. The most coherent answer you'll get is something vague about farmers.
In retirement its not that bad. I turn my bedroom clock ahead then i got up at 8 am which is normaly then throughput the day turn others clicks
I remembered a few hours ago but couldn’t recall if I should turn the time forward tonight or tomorrow. It doesn’t matter as much since we have cell phones that do for for us.
I always get pretty discombobulated the few days after daylight savings.
I did till I woke up and realized cell phone doesn’t match oven time.
It kinda messed up my day… maybe my week.
I can definitely use the reminder!! Thank you ☺️
Yiu think they will get rid of Day/Night Savings time? They’ve been saying that for a long time.

I was on another site, and they reminded me. I already turned back all of the clocks in the house that didn't require a step ladder.
I'll deal with the car later. I need to watch a YouTube video to figure out how to adjust the time in the car. I'm not a DLS fan.
Everything's digital so my phone does it for me and my calendar reminds me on my behalf so no need to manually keep it in mind. The power of technology. Now I have more room to continue having an existential crisis.
I live off grid so I honestly don't care what time it is. My day starts at first sunlight on the horizon and ends when it gets dark. If it's 8 or 9 or 114 o'clock is the same difference to me
Nope, but I happened to head to Arizona right as the change happened, so it delayed me for an extra week.
Yes, I never understood daylight savings. I think it's pointless. So many other places don't participate in daylight savings.
Nope, hard to forget about something I really dislike.
Most of my clocks auto adjust. I change the others in the morning.
Nope didn't forget, phone changes automatically and just have 2 clocks to change, well and the clock in the vehicle
Yeah, I better get to it. My two alarm clocks and two Nixie clocks aren't gonna set themselves forward.
Yup.
The phone uodates but the microwave and the oven don't. We would have been confused for a few seconds.
I think I'll just watch my kids and see how long before they figure it out.
Not yet in Europe. We change the clock on the 27th of mars, so 2 weeks more
F: There is no Daylight Savings time where I live. Take THAT, farmers!
I actually had to be reminded of it... a couple hours ago, lol
Going back off day light savings soon. Looking forward to that extra hour sleep
Thank you for the reminder. Twice a year that is an annoyance I have to put up with because politicians will not leave well enough alone.
I actually set the manual clocks a few hours before so bybsun rise, all digital and manual clocks will be in sync
In the UK the clocks go forward on the early morning of the 27th march.
Who even bothers with that anymore with digital clocks?
Yes, but everything I typically check the time on changes the hour for me.
I hate the whole concept of having to do this twice a year. And yes I forgot about it until I saw this Q
Don't do that here in South Korea apparently.
😂😂😂 D is a good option on your poll.
I voted B though. We're not that exciting around here.
We have British Summer Time (BST) on 27 March.
In the UK ours go forward on 27th March.
I hate this so much
Waiting for 2 AM
I don't own any clocks that need to be changed.
:) .
Nope I’m ready and reminding friends
No I was up on time.
Lol my job didn't. Let us go an hour early.
I did this go-round.
