Why do cats manufacturers insist on using inwardly curved car seats?

My girlfriend has a Kia optima that I just hate sitting in. First off there's like NO goddamn headroom in that thing. But also the chairs have like these guard looking things on the sides that stick out and dig into my back and ribs. I HATE how so many modern cars, particularly foreign make such horribly planned out and designed seats. Okay I know you Asians are tiny AF but in a tall, broad white boy. I'd you're selling to US have a little more goddamn consideration. Or are foreign cars only for tiny people now? I haven't sat in a foreign made car comfortably since my dad's old Hyundai Elantra 2004. But I was 14 back then and already much taller than most Asian men I guess. It's so damn frustrating that as foreign cars take more of the market up I have less viable options as American made vehicles are going to sh*t with terrible design and business decisions. My friend rented a new Chevy Tahoe a couple years ago and the seats sucked, his wife's 2010 Expedition seats sucked. The seats in my 2001 Impala and 99 Suburban are still way more comfortable for long drives than most new cars I've rode in. I weigh 250 pounds and the new car seats are all crap

The Ford explorers and f150s don't hurt me and in 6'3 and 300+ lbs (granted I've been losing weight through diet and exercise over this last year,). I'm still a large man and that's not changing in the future

Car seats are made for safety, and for average size people. If you are larger than average they are uncomfortable as hell.

I have a kia optima and have no issues with the seats. But then again I'm 4'10. Maybe tall people have a issue with the seats like that

I think you're right about the outwardly curved seats though, I'm not a fan of them. But I'm also a smidgen under 5' and weigh in under 90 pounds so they're not uncomfortable, but I wonder "what's the point?".

Even the full sized sedans foreign made are so hard for me. With gas so high and electric cars overpriced I'm basically priced out of anything other than the used market, which sucks because you don't know their history

I used to love the Ford seats because they were comfy. But fords are no longer trustworthy sadly. My grandfathers both drove comfy full sized sedans. A Cadillac El Dorado and a Mercury Grand Marquis. I promise you both were excellent cars even if you don't dig the looks. I did though since I hung out with older people so much growing up. Those old grandpa cars have a special place in my heart.
