How does getting shot feel?

Been grazed. More than a flesh wound, I was hit at an angle that took some bone with it too, but not a directly flat hit. Above my heart, but below my collar bones. I'm assuming it was a small caliber bullet. Adrenaline had me not notice immediately. My body jerked but I didn't process wtf was going on. When I got to cover, my chest felt really warm and soaked. Then there was a really bad stinging and burning. Imagine a metal fire place, and it gets hot from the fire. Put your hand on that metal. Now keep it there.

I've been shot by a lot of paintball and wax bullets. Not the same, I know. Still hurts like the dickens though.
I HAVE been stabbed through my arm with a sword. Felt like getting punched in the arm by my older brother.
Two stitches in the entry and two in the exit wound.
Antibiotics, tetanus booster, I was just fine.
