Is it cheaper to build a house yourself or get a company to do it for you?

About 2/3rds of the cost of a house is labor. If you are a hands on person with common sense and the ability to read tech manuals or know who to ask (Hardware's) then you may be better off doing the build yourself. just do your research and plans first, I don't recommend trying to do it without a set of approved plans.

If you have the skills then DIY is cheaper but also it depends on the value of your time if the build us say 50k cheaper and would take a year but you make 120k then it's cheaper in effect to pay a professional

Do it yourself! Why pay someone else to do it if you have the expertise to do it yourself?

It is cheaper to do it yourself. However if you have a good paying job you would be better off staying on your job and paying somebody to build your house.

You can’t build a house. Custom Design builder will always be more in today’s world. If you own land then it is doable.

If you build it yourself, or as much as you can.
It's called sweat equity.
It will save on labor costs which is a big part of the cost.
