How do you feel about celebrating Halloween 🎃👻?

Personally I like the costume aspect of it. It's like cosplay. I also like the foods and spooky stuff surrounding it. But I feel like it's getting more like Christmas in a commercial sense, even in ways it wasn't 20 years ago.

It's a seasonal transition point, and those make for better New Year spots than mid-season; the Roman (and consequently Julian and Gregorian) calendars are WEIRD in that regard. But I don't get your complaint about commercialization; Halloween is the most capitalist of holidays. Children dress up and go about scaring off the evil spirits that walk the land, and get paid for it in candy. By all rights, we should have Thurl Ravenscroft singing "Takin' Care of Business" playing as we send them out.

my family and relatives are now on those group of ages, in which they're getting a bit too old for Halloween celebrations and don't really want me in their parties or they are way too young to be celebrating Halloween... lol

guess, I'll wait a few years to be part of these kiddy celebrations

It's my favorite time of the year (second) mainly because i got the 1990's power to look young enough to pass as a teenager to go trick or treating. Buuut i've already lost enough teeth so not gonna be doing that. I'm sure i can still do it if I invest in a costume but nah. Also don't wanna do it alone anymore lol

I'm right with a few people here about "samhain". But aside from me celebrating it as a pagan holiday I'm a horror junkie. Dressing up is fun, and getting a sugar high from candy? Can't beat it! And seeing spooky things everywhere like haunted attractions, decor, scary movies, etc. It puts me in a happy mood lol.

I have a back porch that I always decorate and we give out candy to all the neighborhood kids. I think that as traditions go it is pretty harmless. I purposely leave my pumpkin on the front porch hoping somebody will steal it so I don't have to take it to the dump and they never do. So much for tradition.

I think it's the one time of the year where if I want to I can traumatize children by legally chasing them with chainsaws and knives while covered in blood (fake blood) and that brings a smile to my face.

religiously I don't celebrate it under that name but I love samhan it is one of my favorite holidays because 1 it makes my spirit work easier 2 it has lots of symbolism for example pumpkin carving was originally done with any mellon the family could get their hands on it scares away evil spirits 3 it is a good opportunity to practice make-up and get dressed up

Tbh holiday themed commercials get me more in the spirit of the holiday and makes it more fun. So, it’s cool with me.

I do love decorating for the holidays plus I always enjoy the holiday treats, maybe once I get my own place I can past out candy to trick or treaters I don't know.

I like it, but its not really a thing here. There are some Halloween parties at night clubs and a horror night st the cinema but nothing else. No decoration or trick or treating

All I do is dress up. In fact, Halloween is better known as All Saints Eve and November 1st is All Saints Day.
