and then do you cash it out after it gets full?
Back in '95, I bought a 4-ft high glass Coca Bottle floor lamp with an opening for loose change that I've been dropping in since '95.
That "Coke Change Lamp" has been moved from one residence to another, etc. throughout the years.
It's now in the kitchen of our current home.
It's nearly full of loose change at this point.
We don't have intentions of cashing out.

Yeah. a jar of silver and copper. (pennies and the other is nickels and stuff) People be like "Eh, it's just a dime." i pick that shi up without hesitation. Many times I've been in a situation where she says "It'll be $8.43." I can pick out exact change. Also it's money, nonetheless.

I have a change jar. Used to have a piggy bank when I was younger
Kinda, my mom has one and I always use hers
I used to, but not anymore. I haven’t made a single transaction in cash over the past few years. We’ve a great system here in Singapore where besides the traditional credit/debit cards and Apple Pay, we can make payment to individuals and stores (both shopping mall and small roadside shops) by scanning a QR code.
You can live completely cashless here. Even street vendors (we don’t really have them but we have those ice cream carts) and buskers accept payment/tips via the QR system.
Our toll system is completely automatic; instead of stopping at a toll station and making payment, our cars come equipped with a cash card reader (with our cash card inserted) that gets automatically deducted when we drive through a certain road (at a certain time).
We don’t need a transportation/train/bus card here in Singapore (of course it will be slightly cheaper if you do), but if you don’t, you can simply tap your credit/debit card or apple pay on the gantry system. Most of the younger crowd here don’t even carry a single dollar in their pockets when heading out. I’m no exception.Yeah, I have a tall mug commemorative of my senior football season in high school. I’m always afraid of breaking it, so I have it dead center on top of a dresser at about my chin level, so it only has decorative items on it, I’m not usually going up there, so I feel like it’s safest there. Then I dump it into a bag and bring it to a Coinstar machine at the supermarket when it fills up.
I used to have a drawer at my desk where I threw change. It started getting too heavy and difficult to open the drawer. So I moved all the change to coffee cans. I estimate there is $400-600. I keep telling myself I should take them to a bank that has a coin counter, but haven't gotten around to it.
Coins keep adding up here.
I made myself a sachet from left over motorbike seating material to collect them.
Every now and then the lady in the shop 'down the road' is happy when I pay my daily groceries with small cash.
I don't have a piggy bank, i do however have an owl bank that I named Mister Owl (even though Mister Owl is technically a she)
Yea but nothin really goes in it anymore I haven’t used cash at a store for years. All I ever need cash for are drugs which isn’t even always the case.
Yes but it’s the shape of a butterfly and I painted on it when I was like 11 or 12 😂.
I have a piggy bank in the form of a robot that my brother once gave me for my birthday (I like robots). Every coin I bring home ends up in that robot. It takes me like 2-3 years to fill it up, but when I cash it in it's several hundreds.
I have a few jars, but I let my friends' children "earn" from them for behaving when they come over so they rarely get about $30 or $40 total.
