So there's this 2 sisters at my job with whom I've been bantering with and we seem to be getting along great but haven't yet made the steps to turn it into, say, a friendship.
I am actually their superior, not like a boss or anything but, my job requires me to help them with what they need and to orient them and the rest of the team to perform a certain task.
So to the point. I got curious like many of us do and checked out if they had an instagram account, which they did. Pictures are of family members or making a pose in front of an interesting location. Nothing too flashy.
To my demise, I dropped my phone and as I pick it up I somehow double click one of the photos. Posing in front of a church in an nice, yet not revealing outfit. Point being, I wasn't checking her out half-naked on a beach.
I quickly unliked the photo and others measures to remove any traces because it felt somewhat innappropriate. Even if we know each other, I felt like we didn't break this barrier. We didn't exchange WhatsApps or Facebooks etc. yet, so I felt I couldn't just go around and check people out like that. Even though I know for a fact most people do this to some extent, but it still felt like it was the worst time to do it for some reason.
After that incident I didn't see them again before I went on a beach vacation for 2 weeks. After I come back something seems off. The looks are different. And in the second and 3rd day I didn't even see them, almost like they are purposefully chosing locations and tasks to avoid me as much as possible.
I have no idea how to handle the situation from here. Which kind of approach? Should I apologize, own up to it in some way? Or should I double down and tell them I got curious and be 100% transparent? Is there any way of me coming out not a complete and utter creep?
As a guy, what would you do if you were me to save face and try and go back to normal with them? As a girl, how would you like to be approached after an incident like this?
