I got a couple of things I did that might go down in some obscure computer science and VFX journals and articles. But the people reading it will probably have no idea of who I really am; like my personality (no biography-level worthiness in my case). I'm an obscure footnote at best in terms of the history of technological innovations. But maybe that footnote will remain for a few hundred years at least. I did revamp the VFX industry for better or worse (sometimes I think worse).

In terms of personal things outside of work, that's my bigger concern. I've become so alcoholic and unfiltered that, in spite of my friends staying close to me, I think I should lose them from my grasp if I'm not actually losing them.

This question reminds me of the Disney film, 'Coco'.

That film touched me deeply, having lost my dad to cancer when I was a young boy.

As for myself being remembered, maybe not very long in a way that directly connects to my actual named identity, but maybe infinitely, in that I may have affected the lives of others in ways which I may never know, continuing on into the future.

My life has been affected by many who have gone before me, with those people having also being affected by the people in their lives, on and on into the past.

    Great question!

assuming I have kids, at least 50 years. if I get to meet their kids, at least 70 (doubt that 😅).

if I manage to complete all my goals before I turn 50, hopefully a 100 years I'll be remembered.

here on G@G? forgotten right the second after already.

I probably won't be remembered at all, and that's fine

I've just come to terms with my life being insignificant and worthless.. if only I had the courage to just end it all..

    I don't care.
I want to be clear about this: When I die, I do not want a funeral or a grave or any of that money-wasting mumbo-jumbo horseshit.

40 years ago, I chose not to have children because of what the world was going to become (thanks to the GOP). My predictions became true, so I am greatly relieved that my children are not living through the shitstorm that we -and, moreso, you - are and will face.

So, by not having kids, I put in place an easier guilt-free ability to leave this world when my time comes which is soon enough. The sooner the mutual divestiture between me and the rest of humanity, the better.

I don't think being remembered is essential to my being. As a person, rather than being a memory or not forgotten, I would rather do the things that makes me who I am. If people want to identify me with that, sure. But living to the fullest becomes the priority for me. Remembrance comes with others, so I don't think I have such duration time for that.

If everything goes according to the plan, I will be the center of a Kim Il-sung-esque cult of personality, complete with enormous golden statues and portraits on every wall.

I don’t think that I will be remembered that much because you forgot about my PM already.

Don't know. Don't really care, as I'll either be chilling in the afterlife if I am right or, if wrong I'll be unaware of anything at all.

60 years or so? Add a few decades if I get grandchildren before I die.

To be honest, the sad truth is most people forget over time, including those who were closest to you. They'll probably remember you only when it's convenient.
