Why do some people on the site don't understand that opinions are subjective?

Act like their opinion is fact, becoming aggressive or defensive, when someone disagrees with them and sometimes even block you and are unable to have a civilized conversation? I've only ever seen this happening in real life; people there try to refute your argument courteously and politely.

The difference between opinions and facts are that facts can be proven by objective, often scientific demonstrations, but opinions are are subjective, based on beliefs and not provable. Here are some examples of facts: -There are 50 states in the United States. -Your heart pumps blood through your body. -The earth orbits around the sun.

this app is full of sexless men, average-below average woman who want attention, and overly political people. anything else is an outlier, so im not sure where in your experience you ever thought this app was morally acceptable or socially. either ask if you're pretty, ask if your dicks small, or argue about politics. those are your options.

The invention of social media. It warps human behavior in more ways than just having to be right all of the time. People are rarely found accountable for what they say when hidden behind a device. And it’s fun for them to light people off.
