How would you deal with a bitch like this?

So I was talking to someone and said I had applied for something and they wanted a particular requirement (crying smiley)

Her response was: Oo where and what program? Ikr... another weed out system.

I felt like saying fuck you, who are you some bad student with no prospects? It wasn't a weed out system, it was a REQUIREMENT.

I am like the nicest person alive and struggle with dealing with people like this, what would you say back if you were me?

I don't even know what that means. I guess, the female was saying, you weren't qualified for the job and it that was a good thing because you didn't deserve it?

Man, I'm from Philly. Assholes are almost everyone in that entire city, not counting those who moved there from far away. I guess those would be the only non-assholes there. So I grew up used to people like that. And no one in Korea would dare say something that rude, cause Asia in general has a shaming culture (very much unlike the west, especially America) and everyone would give you sh*t if you were that rude here. Koreans will talk a boatload of sh*t about you, behind your back, but never directly to your face.

I don't know what you could've said. Maybe just walk away and not even respond to them anymore. Like a non-verbal phone slam to their face (which you can't do with modern smartphones, but on landlines, you just hang up on them mid-sentence; it was satisfying to do.)

Okay, I understand now after reading your question and your responses. She wasn't being a bitxh to you, she was agreeing with you. You two were basically saying the same thing only she used a different word/phrase.

It was a simple misunderstanding, "weed out" the way she used it, is saying requirements. They make requirements, to "weed out" the people who will waste their time applying for a job or school they're not qualified for.

So, for example, if there's a job posting and the requirements are to have 5 years of experience or educational degrees. If there were going to be 10,000 applying to that but only 500 meet the actual requirements of having the experience and or the educational background, then those 500 people who met the requirements will have their applications reviewed and those other 14,500 have now been "weeded out" thus saving this school or company time. Does that makes sense?

She's smarter than you after all. Requirement - weed out system means the same thing. If you don't have requirements you're weeded out of proceeding with a job application.
