What kind of animal could this be?

I was sleeping and there was this animal at me window going waaaa waaaa and then it would stop and go again waaa waaa waaa waaa. It was at like 3am and we couldn’t see what it was. I live in the south of the USA and I had never heard that before. Do coyotes make that sound? It was definitely a baby but I wasn’t trying to be like one of those white people in the horror films and check what it was outside😂 There are possums that come to my back yard but I really don’t know what kind of animal makes that noise it was very weird I hope that the baby is okay.

Omg maybe it could be an armadillo but the armadillo seems to have a deeper tone pitch

Armadillo or probably a safe bet. Coyotes usually act similarly to dogs. But depends on the size of the creature

It ended up being a rabbit the animal ripped it’s head off and left his body there :( I’m pretty sad that a rabbit was unalived by my window and pretty shook

This little guy is Fowler's Toad, he sounds like a baby crying, there are recordings online have a listen and see.

Coyotes make a yelping sound at night sometimes

I’ve seen brutal ways animals died but that rabbit having its head ripped off. What I’ve seen doesn’t compare

I'm not sure what type of animal it was but if it was an armadillo getting eaten you would see a lot of blood by your window or in your yard
