Liston, he was the biggest of 3. Size alone isn’t everything but good reach & skills too. He’s often mentioned as the strongest heavyweight, definitely top 3, at least.
Any one of those 3 hits hard enough to knock the other out. Mike is fast, Rockys best conditioned, They’re all strong, Sonny is strongest.

I wasn’t familiar with Sonny listen that much I’m a lot more familiar with Mike Tyson

It wasn't just his stare, or his reputation outside the ring.. Liston had a reputation for hurting people INSIDE the ring. Tyson could knock you out, but Liston broke bones. Tyson could set you up and hit you with the right shots. Liston could box, or just walk through you if he had to.

Tyson, with his speed and power, could beat a lot of big guys. Liston WAS the big guy, even if not bigger, HE SEEMED BIGGER.

I want to add to this that Liston was not trying to intimidate. He didn't do a lot of trash talking. He just really was a strong powerful man. He also was a man who had been through it all, and seen it all.

To be familiar with Sonny, Mike Tyson’s early life was brutal. Absolutely horrible, but I feel Sonny Liston had a worse life. Mike Tyson’s early life didn’t effect his entire life course unlike Sonny Liston.

Sonny Liston was whipped and used as a farm mule by his father. This would cause him to not have a good education. When he left the farm, he tried to go to school. But, he looked like an adult by 10 years old. Bullied for looking like a old man. Due to not performing well in school, he went to the mafia. Being a criminal, he gained everything he needed. He also got arrested and he enjoyed prison. The fact is that the first 10 years of his life were a nightmare. It caused mental scars that would soon lead Liston down a dark path. Mike Tyson got out if his dark path in his teenage years, but Sonny Liston couldn’t escape.

Mike had a cruel, tough, upbringing - but it was the Beverly Hills Hilton next to what Sonny Liston endured as a child

By research and learning about Sonny, to me Sonny was The Godfather of intimidation and he never tried to intimidate anyone, it was just who he was
