The name Dylan derives from a tale in the Mabinogion in which a baby upon being baptised gains the power to swim like a fish and immediately buggers off to live in the sea. (Basically, it's Aquaman but with more rape).
The name Dylan was never really popular until two men came along Dylan Thomas and Bob Dylan. Together they caused a surge in the name's popularity.
However, the name is now at risk of dying out as fewer and fewer babies are being named it. This raises the question, has Dylan Mulvany finally killed the name off in the same way Hitler killed off the name Adolf?

The name Karen took a big hit after it became a pejorative. "Karen is a pejorative term used as slang for a white woman perceived as entitled or demanding beyond the scope of what is normal. The term is often portrayed in memes depicting white women who use their white privilege to demand their own way." They are depicted saying "I would like to speak to the manager." And they typically have a certain type of hair style that became known as the Karen cut. LOL
Dylan Mulvaney is such an insignificant creature that I doubt if the name will become as loathed as Adolph, but it may become less popular as a boy's name. But it may still be popular with parents who believe in giving their children gender neutral names.

I highly doubt Dylan Mulvaney* would cause the end of a name. Name popularity comes and goes, the name will make a comeback as soon as some movie/tv show writer, or author creates a likable character with that name. Us humans are a sucker for that shit.

Maybe, but not as badly as Karen. The only time I can hear the name "Karen" and not think of someone wanting to speak with the manager is when I hear about Karen Carpenter.
