I'm thinking Icelandic sheep dog.
Fiercely independent, incredibly smart, but incredibly loyal.
Not sure if it's exactly my personality, but it's definitely a breed I admire.
If not that...
I don't know, a cairn terrier perhaps?
My old dog was a cairn terrier, and he wouldn't put up with any nonsense from *anyone* no matter the size.
Heck, he tried to attack a excavator so much bigger then him that you have no idea just to defend my mum.

My mom had a dachshund. When it was time to put her down I was heartbroken. So my mom got me Laddie. He was my best friend for years. When I learned to drive I’d take off down a country road. He’d follow me. Clocked him at 30 mph. He got up to 105 lbs. everything about him was just good. He was a great buddy.

What kind of Lab did you have? My brother had a black lab, then a chocolate lab. I had another black lab with my ex. She kept him after the divorce. They all had so much personality. Like little mute people with such expressive faces.

That is a random picture from the Internet. My mom used to have a picture of him with his cute little puppy face between his cute little baby paws sleeping on our porch. He was as good a dog., he was as good a friend as a teenage boy could ever hope for.
