Besides, if they really were "hiding" something, and their intent is to hide information and keep the public from knowing, why the hell would the government publicly release material and conduct hearings about it? Do I believe there is life somewhere out there? Absolutely. But nothing I've seen so far is very convincing, let alone "conclusive".

If you followed Carl Sagan, he said the idea of alien visitation to this planet is really stupid and he found it almost laughable... Reason: Where we are in the Milky Way Galaxy- we are in the "Galactic Boondocks" - like Snyder Town Ohio! Meaning we are not "where the action is" in this part of the Galaxy, and it's like Snyder Town, maybe they know where it is but nobody wants to go there.

We are nowhere near where it might be even "likely' that any aliens- if there are in this part of the Milky Way - would want to go, much less invade and "Take prisoners"

There is no doubt that there is other life in the universe, as to weather or not we have encountered extraterrestrial life is another question all together.

If we have had encounters I would think that there is compelling reasons for the government to withhold the information.

We are, partially. They created us as a slave race to mine gold for them. That's why there's no missing like, per se. They mixed their DNA with that of our closest relatives and got us! Big Foot was one of their mistakes (they are the "missing link" but, as they are rather intelligent, aliens use them to do things for them, here. I think, the reason we can never catch one is because either the aliens "beam them up" if they are in danger of being caught or, sasquatches have the ability to disappear or beam themselves up if they're about to be caught.
