I think we peaked in 1999. At least in the US. We started sinking under Bush, boueyed briefly under Obama, and dropped to the ocean floor under Trump. We have started to ascend again under Biden but it seems like everyone else with power is trying their absolute hardest to keep that from happening.

I think 2019 just before covid hit was the best. Then it all went to crap. Then Biden got elected. It got worse from there.

It was my favourite year. Highschool was easy, I had a good group of friends and all the covid restrictions made for a lot of people collectively bonding over Squid Game. Plus Olivia Rodrigo released her debut album with each and every song going viral on Tiktok... somehow. Ah, i miss it
