Well by definition there's less risk than single allocation. Just as you are dampening risk, you are dampening returns when compared solely to a rocketing sector, but the intention is to trade profits for safety. When the S&P shaved off 30%, real estate and bitcoin were less affected/unaffected. Now the risk of picking a shite fund is there if you don't do your DD, but any time you have assets under management that is a concern. Everybody loved Kathy Wood until they didn't.
