For an even square, you would need 8.4 of those tiles on each side with those measurements. It will actually be slightly less than that depending on how you space them.

To do this, you would need 64 full tiles, plus 8 partial (4x10") tiles cut to fit, though the corner piece will be unique (4x4 inches), bringing the cut tiles up to 9. That's 73 minimum. In my opinion though, it would look better to split those partial tiles in half (2x10" and the corner into four 2x2" pieces) and line them around the edges. If you cut the tiles this way, you could also reduce the number of tiles for cutting from 9 to 7, or 71 total with much less excess.

How many boxes will give 81 tiles? Round up to full boxes.

Note you have to cut tiles. Normally allow 10% wastage so 89 rounded up to full boxes should be ok. It will cost you if you don't have sufficient for the tile layer.

If DIYing you'll break more tiles but if you can whip out and buy more if needed you can see how you go. Otherwise maybe allow an extra box for breakage. Worth hiring a tile cutter.

Think you be best not doing it yourself - it is hard to get the tiles lined up the first time.

I assume you mean tile the whole wall. If so, 81 tiles. The wall is 7X7 which is 84 inches by 84 inches. So each row and column must need 9 tiles. 9X9 is 81.

But 8 by 8 tiles is 80 by 80 inches, so you can save a few by cutting some tiles in half. You can save 15 tiles this way, depending on if they are patterned or not.

Assuming you don't break any when cutting, you might get away with 66 tiles.

Of course, you might mean just one tile and this is a trick question.

Don't porget! Check the edge of each corner is really vertical. You don't want to tile up the wall and find you atre getting at ever widening vertical gap !

Sometimes it is better to start 1/4 of a tile away from the bottom left hand corner. It is easier to finish by cutting some 1/4 tiles than cutting a this sliver to fill that tiny gap that appears as you tile up the wall.

Draw vertical and horizontal lines to start with so you have accurate and square lines to work against.

You said the wall is 7ft by 7ft. So, you need to cover 84in x 84in. The tiles are 10in x 10in. You'll need 9 across by 9 tiles down. I'm going with 81 tiles.

7 feet is 84 inches... 8x10-inch tiles wouldn't quite cover it, you need 9 tiles, one of which needs cutting. Actually, the best would be to take one 10-inch tile and cut it into two two inch wide tiles, with one at each end of the wall. So, each row requires 9 tiles.

Same thing for each column, so you would need a total of 9x9=81 tiles for the 7x7 ft wall. You'd end up with 8x8 tiles with a 2-inch tile border around them.

Each tile is 10" X !0" = 100 sq inches
7056 divided by 100 equals 70.56.
You need to buy 71 tiles. You shoud buy a few extra in case you have to make some cuts.
