What are your favorite pot plants for home and why?

Spider plants can clean the air in a living space. One of the best is known as "Mother-in-law's Tongue". I forget it's proper name but it's one of the few plants that expells oxygen at night so it's brilliant in a bedroom. One plant in a bedroom has been shown to increase the oxygen levels and filter out some toxins. That's shown in studies to improve sleep quality and help reverse chronic insomnia.

I had one in England from 2017-20 but you can't take plants with soil through customs for some reason, so I gave it to my best mate. Those 3 years I had better sleep than any since I was a child.

I have a black thumb. Everything I try to grow dies. Fortunately, my SO is great with plants and we have several in our home. TBH, I don't know what any of them are called.

Peace Lily, Calathea and snake plants are some of my favorites. They're aesthetically beautiful and easy to maintain. I also have dried lavender in the living room and makes the room smell gorgeous. Another favorite of mine is bonsai tree but those require extra care and I tend to travel for work I'm not sure if it would survive.

I would love to get a Aloe Vera plant for the bedroom to help with the air. I have very poor circulation in my apartment. I would love to get a tomato and some herbs as well but hey.
