Do people ask you to reach things for them? Do you have to do gymnastics to reach high shelves?
I’m the kind of short that makes other short people feel tall.

I am on a long-term quest to find fresh water chestnuts, because everyone says they're SO MUCH BETTER than the canned variety- which I can believe- but no one freaking sells them. In the course of the search, I've been to many, many Asian grocery stores, most of which seem to be patronized primarily by expats and their kids. That's fine, of course, but it's an odd feeling seeing six-foot high shelves when even the male half of your customer base rarely exceeds five and a half feet in height.
I'm 6'2", and being the naturally helpful sort, who volunteers to help someone reaching for something they can't get to, my presence has always been appreciated at such places, but it's the kind of thing that makes you wonder how tall the shelves are at stores in China and Japan.
Interesting situation, lol.
I’m 6’2, and I get asked by other random customers at the supermarket to reach top shelf items for them I’d say at least three times a year, haha. At my last job, I was in supermarkets all the time, and I’d say it would happen almost weekly with that kind of frequency.
I still wish I was taller though😂 I feel like 6’2 is just regular-big. I wish I was like 6’5, when you start getting into the big-big range, but I should probably just be satisfied with where I am. I already bump my head on stuff more than I’d like, haha
lol I suppose people will always want more
I'm 5'7" tall. That is pretty much around average where I am from for a girl. I don't have any issues reaching things at my height. I can't really think of a time where I said yikes I can't do this because of my height. Sure I can't do some things that taller people can do like dunk a basketball or things of that nature but not many can anyways. For the normal everyday things in life I have no issues. Even if I did I wouldn't really notice it at my age because more than likely I would be used to it. I have a friend that is considerably shorter than me and she does just fine in life.
I’m 5’5 so average. My siblings are taller. My little brother is 6’1 so it’s an obvious choice that I make him get stuff from the top shelf.
Younger siblings always get all the height genes lol
