I've played football and baseball. I was never nervous playing football because the game is so intense you just don't have time to think about it.
Baseball on the other hand made me a nervous wreck. You have lots of time to get nervous between pitches.
I've completed in a lot of sports obviously never a crowd like that but at the end of the day I was always nervous until the event actually starts.
I still compete in amateur boxing and I've had many fights, sparred with professionals, constantly working out, have knocked people out and every time I fight in front of a crowd I'm terrified until the punches start flying. It's normal
would be cool but once you're in the game you are focused on the game and don't think of people around.
I would be claustrophobic and probably would end up having a panic attack

If I had the talent to compete at that level, I would thrive on it!
You wouldn’t be nervous or shake intensely a bit having to go out there and compete in front of all those people who paid money to see you?
Yes I'd be nervous as heck, but I thrive on competition.. I always have. I love pushing myself to being better.. BUT, and this is the important bit,, I would have to have the talent. I couldn't go out there and wing it!
In your poll, I clicked on 'more excited' because my nerves (and everyone has them, I know I could use in my favour, I love the adrenaline..
Fine with me. I've been in front of audiences before.
Really, how many people?
i never counted and it never bothered me no matter how many there were, as long as I wasn't up there bustin' ass for 3 or 4 people! I'm just there to do a show, play our music and help the people get their jollies.
It's kinda like working on building a skyscraper in the middle of a VERY busy metropolitan area with MILLIONS of people around! They might not all be watching you and they might not all be watching at the same time but, you're just there doing your job and, if they get a thrill out of watching you work, great! I'm REALLY glad they love what I'm doing but, basically, I'm just an animal that bashes drums. Nobody stands around watching and then applauding them when they sell a hanky at the dept. store but, it's just a job, to them. Maybe they WOULD like having someone applaud their efforts. Try it next time you walk through the haberdashery dept..
Id be nervous but as a teacher public speaking is my jam so yeah.
Presumably I'd be well trained, ready, and excited to be doing something that few others can, with a crowd that have come just to see me and my peers.
When I was a kid I used to have to play piano in front of the entire school at the annual school Eisteddfod. That was bad enough... especially given I knew I was going to come 3rd every single fucking time.
I could never lower myself to that type of mainstream crass banality.
I've competed in front of a few hundred people. Scaling it up wouldn't make it any different in my opinion.
No. But that's looking back at a time that I could compete.
Same as I do every day, disappointed that I'm still alive
I'd focus on the game
I would wet my pants and hope nobody notices
Happy having my feet on the ground
Happy and excited.
I would be nervous
