I take forever to clean the house, does that require skills?

I get it done eventually but I'm slow at it. There are times I get bored, find myself scrubbing or wiping the same area 2-3 times (concentrate too much on an area) and by the time I've finished halfway it's already an hour later or so.

Sometimes I can get it done on that same and finish it the next or two days later. Does cleaning a house at a regular pace require skills?

This isn't a joke but my mom would tell me I take longer than usual to even wash several plates that if I were in a restaurant, people would be falling asleep already.

It’s really about organising and planning the various jobs around the house. I have a four bedrooms and even though 2 are usually empty I keep them cleaned monthly. Then I have set jobs on Monday - Friday and weekend other bits to sort out. I also do monthly, quarterly, six monthly and yearly tasks, it’s all about chopping everything into smaller tasks but ones that are useful to do at same time.

I had the same issue. But you have to do a little daily in order not to allow for build up of dust at all etc. Then when you clean the entire thing it will be way faster rather than wasting a lot of time on specific spots.

Sometimes. I get distracted and hate doing the same task for too long that I wish it was already finished.

This is a super common symptom of ADHD. My wife struggles with it and I'm pretty sure I have a lower level of it. You might want to bring it up with a doctor if it's impacting other parts of your life as well.

Stimulants, like caffeine, can help, but I also read that meditation is also really helpful.
