I’d say my most common negative emotion is probably anxiety. It pops up the most, especially in social situations or when I’m facing something new or uncertain.

For example, I remember when I had to give a presentation in college. I was so anxious that I could barely sleep the night before. My mind kept racing with “what if” scenarios, and by the time I got up to speak, my hands were shaking. I powered through it, but the anxiety beforehand was intense.

Other emotions that come up are frustration and self-doubt. Like when I’m trying to learn something new and I keep messing up, or when I compare myself to others and feel like I’m not measuring up. But anxiety definitely takes the top spot!

Sadness. I did lose a family member close to me last weekend, but it's not that kind of sadness. It's the sadness I have for family members who are still alive. Members who are abusive and toxic for me, this I know. But I think about it, and feel sad because I wish it was different. But I know that as soon as I go back, nothing will change. The same sad scene of sadness, anger and regret will play before me like a broken record.
