When I used to go to school there was one girl like this. I couldn't even look in her general direction for 2 seconds without her going on a very long tangent about how ugly I am and how much she hates me.

And her hate for me was so intense and passionate. Like insanely so for someone I barely interacted or talked with in the first place. I probably only said like 5 words to her throughout the entire school year.

A possible explanation I can think of is she had a crush on me but didn't wanna admit it so she kept trying to convince herself that she hated me and wanted nothing to do with me.

That or she was just crazy. Lol.

Actually, I can be very infuriating and triggering towards people that I have no respect for. But that is something that I do on purpose to make them unleash their idiocy on full display, especially if there are other people witnessing it. Therefore, there is a reason. It is an easy win.

I can low-key kind of relate to an extent, lol. I'm too much of a non-confrontational person to do anything like that, but god do I feel like it sometimes, haha.

It's somewhat of a reverse psychology kind of thing. Some of people say the opposite of what they actually mean for various reasons.

So my theory is there was somewhat a possibility that she actually thought I was attractive but said the opposite. Otherwise it doesn't really make sense why she would be on my ass 24/7 when I wasn't even talking to her or looking at her. She could've just hated me and thought I was ugly in silence. But no, she had to let me know all the time.

Just a theory, might not even be right, but it's a possibility. If I hated someone as much as she seemed to hate me I would just simply avoid the person and hate them in silence.

I wasn't really hoping she'd like me either. She wasn't my type both in terms of appearance and personality.

A similar scenario would be a closeted gay guy in denial hating on an openly gay guy he secretly finds attractive just so no one suspects he's gay as well.

Or just a little boy in elementary school hating on a little girl to hide the fact that he likes her. Lol.

TL;DR Reverse psychology, basically. Saying the opposite of what you mean to cover up your true feelings. Not saying it was 100% true, but yeah.

Understandable, but in that particular case she was literally going out of her way to tell me how much she hates me and how ugly I am all the time. I don't think that's normal or healthy behavior.

Either she was doing a reverse psychology thing or she was just a straight up psychopath.

Like she wasn't even avoiding me, she was going out of her way daily to call me ugly and tell me how much she hates me.

Sometimes people really do, do a reverse psychology thing. Like it's actually a thing. But sometimes yes, it's exactly what it overtly looks like. Impossible to know without going inside her brain. Could be one or the other, or even a mixture of both.

But overall in the end, does it even matter either way? She's been long gone out of my life a long time ago. Doesn't matter what her whole thought process was either way.

Thankfully all this happened when we were teenagers in high school. I highly doubt any well adjusted adult would act like this.

Yes, and I've really never "hated" someone for no reason but there was definitely dislike. What's really funny, is my dad has hated every neighbor he's ever had. A few of them he's never even talked to or rarely sees but he hates them. He's a very unhappy person.
