A lot of people say rugby, tennis, archery, lacross, and pilates is usually utilized by the wealthy.

Yes, that also includes fencing, 🤺 equestrian, skiing, boat rowing, sailing, biking, dirk bike racing etc. why? It requires a lot of money to support these sports. Unlike just having a basketball or soccer ball to play around.

me? I was a gymnast up till around 40 years. old.
now, I don’t do much aside from just walking.
my kids play tennis.
my son also wants to ski, does track and boat rowing when he gets to college.
he also took sailing and was very very good at it.

Deemed? I would say it's a statistical fact, not deemed. Sociologically speaking, as an ensemble, we don't choose certain sports because we like them. We like what we like because we belong to a circle liking these designated sports

Any sport with a high financial barrier to entry could be considered "elitist" but that could also include gaming if you need the fastest rig with raytracing or whatever. So enjoy what you like, don't pay any heed to the haters.

I thought that sports like hockey or football that needed expensive equipment were elitist. My kids played soccer and ran track.

@glowupgirly5 I used to run marathons but I had a total hip replacement a couple of years ago.
I got my kids to play soccer because all you had to buy was a set of spikes.

I think polo, golf and tennis are elitist sports, because mostly rich people play it.

My favorite sports are dodgeball, handball, basketball, volleyball and football (soccer).

I also like martial arts.

Is basically horseback riding. Could be racing, showing, jumping, whatever. It involves a freaking horse!

I’ve been golfing 🏌🏾‍♂️ since 2019.
I’m planning to add bowling 🎳 to our list of sporting activities this year.
