There was privacy.
People's movements and transactions weren't tracked and traced.
Medical records weren't shared digitally with the government and insurance companies.
Traffic tickets weren't shared with insurance companies.
Phone calls and correspondences weren't monitored. NSA and government agencies didn't compile data on honest citizens.
There weren't facial recognition cameras everywhere.

You could buy a ticket, hang out in boarding area, and hop on an airplane without TSA bullshit.

There were no militarized SWAT teams with armor and machine guns raiding people's houses.
