Who in the relationship is the 'Did you lock the door?' person, and who is the 'We’ll be fine' person?

My wife is definitely the 'Did you lock the door?' person.
We live on 30 acres in a rural neighborhood at the top of a 4/10 mile long, winding gravel driveway. There is a 0.00001% chance of anyone taking a chance on coming to our house with nefarious intent. They might get shot.
Nevertheless, my wife is anal about locking the door, even when we are both inside. She has me trained now. I do it to make her feel secure. It's not a bad thing.
I can't tell you how many times we have left to go somewhere and get a mile away before she second guesses herself and says "Oh my gosh! Did I lock the door?" Then we have to go back and check.
I’ve always had to be both. Most women I know have also had to be both. Guys have to hear the “we’ll be fine” even if you’re the “sis I leave the iron on?” sort of person by nature. Guys act tough and chill, like everything will be ok, but half the time the silently just don’t believe it and do need to hear it from someone they live and trust.
i don't ask bc it'd drive me insane thinking he could be wrong so i just go look lol
literally bc of my OCD i used to check if the door were locked A LOT and had to work on gradually getting myself to not check so much

That's easy I'm 6 2 and 260 lbs. She is 5 1 and maybe 125 lbs.. a beautiful woman I'm a big hulking Sasquatch. No one is following me to my car. Hitting on me at the chik fil a. Or prying to talk to me the moment my girl is out of site. So let's face it I have the physical strength and size to hurt people she doesn't. I am aware but not afraid she often feels fear. It's natural so she is the obsession security person.. but lol I so get laid when I walk behind some douche at Target trying to chat up my girl and I say get lost asshole. Something basic about protecting your woman is primal.
Me. Check your gear. Then check your gear. Then check it again. 15 years in the military. It becomes a perpetual state of mind that carries over to car doors, checking the whole house before bed, etc. My family just assumed I'd do it. On the flip side I've accidentally locked them out a few times with my unconscious flipping of locks when I go through a door. Oops, sorry.
that’s really cool
my dad is the one who usually does that
he’s locked me out before too lol
Depends on the neighborhood. In our neighborhood its we'll be fine but if there's a lot of crime going around that shifts. There was a period where they put asylum seekers in my town and those were threatning, stealing and hurting girls. That period i was more of a lock the door person. But because it was such a disaster that stopped and they are gone again. Now its back to safe.
I think I am the "we'll be fine" person in most cases, and I'm convinced that anyway relaxed I am will not matter nor compensate anything lol
I'm both really.. I'm nonchalant, but I also know that it's not sweet, and chocolatey out here..
It was Me Me Me Me Me, I did nearly everything! But the cat did chase the mice away! 😃
I'm not in a relationship but I'm the door locker. I live on a busy street and there's always random people coming up to my door. I wish I never moved
We are both "did you lock the door" people. Usually before we leave on vacation I do a last walk through to make sure a faucet is not dripping , the thermostat is turned down, the bulkhead is locked and the front porch light is on.
Not in a relationship but I'll definitely be the did you lock the door kind of person or you didn't leave the stove on right. Lol
I love to lock the door and check it , especially before I sleep because the world is full of creeps.
OMG I can't stand the "I heard a noise you go check it", "call me when you get home safely", "take an umbrella just in case", "better safe than sorry" "trust but verify" mindset when it's unrestrained. In moderation it's just fucking annoying as hell
It's all fine until it's not. That's what chill 😎 people do.
I’m the did you lock the door person always lmao
My husband is a big did you lock the door did you lock the car wear I'm not lol grew up in a small town where you knew everyone so
Usually the girl is the lock the door person , me I don’t care lol
I'm always the one who checks the doors. Because I'm also the first line of defence.
It depends on the context, because we both play that role in different situations
If I was in a relationship I'd be the "did you lock the door" person for sure
I’m internally both lol and that’s every night before I go to sleep
but to be clear I’m not in a relationship that’s just my night routine lol!
like I don’t do sex! 😆
I'm that meme...
I've checked locks twice before... refused to go a third time
why risk it...
check the windows as well
She gets 99% of my trust. I give 50%, the other 49% have to be earned, and the 1% so I don’t get too comfortable taking her for granted.
from some point I don't care anymore :D
I normally always keep doors locked wherever inside, and guns loaded too.
I think we all have these moments of ourselves rather than as a trait of a partner.
I'm concerned about the feds knocking it down so I always double check. Set up the claymore boomba to roam the house and ensure no break-ins.
My boyfriend is the first one, I’m the second one
Me and one of my girls
We'd both be? Lol 😅 me and my woman
I’m usually the checker lols
Thats a sign of memory loss or high stress.
I’m both
Me. I am that person
Make no sense to me
