Does anyone else find certain car names weird?

I guess designers and marketing gurus are reaching the end of their imagination, or maybe AI has taken over here too:

Some cars in the current line-ups:

Citroën C4 Cactus

Porsche 718 Cayman
Porsche Taycan
Porsche Macan

Hyundai Ioniq

Seat Ateca

Although there were a few gems several decades ago:

Daihatsu Naked

Mazda LaPuta (didn't do well in southern Europe)

AMC Gremlin (better not exposed to water, in any form)

Usually, only the drivers are weird.

I saw:

- A Honda City in a village

- A Ford Ranger (with two red toughness shackles of course) on even asphalted ground

- numerous MG that pretended being still British

- ''Ora'' ''Good Cat'' (my anti-favourite)

- Honda HR-V (each time I see one, I think ''HIV'')

- Anything ''Tata'' (what comes next? - Doo Doo?)

- Nissan Cube (well - at least it's straight to the point... erm... cube)

- Mercedes... until the present day their model names say nothing to me

Most so-called off road vehicles are used to drive the kids to school and go shopping at the nearest supermarket. Most owners would get really mad if their car got a scratch or some road dust.

Well well - I recently heard a proud dick-up owner talking about 2 tons of grocery that can be hauled if required. And if the Missus or the kids get fat, there's also enough spare...
And... ''off road'' is usually the roadside ditch, I guess?

They have a difficult job naming them considering the different languages.

General Motors found out that the Chevy Nova wouldn't sell well in Latin America because in Spanish Nova meant "won't go", or something similar.

Maybe they should consult with teenagers who just got their driver's license and see what names they come up with. ?

I don't know but the younger generations would know what language they speak and could probably come up with some pretty good names. At least that's what I think 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't think there is a single thing that I consider weird anymore. If there is, I will be surprised which doesn't happen often.

Yes, there was even a hyped up version, the Mazda LaPuta X Turbo. She wasn't very wild though. You could take her to your grandparents house.

Yes, but many of them seem more normal than some of the computer software names I've come across. People's user names are really odd too, sometimes.

Yes, Japanese companies make up ridiculous names for care that they really do no have a clue what it means.

But the car and the food are a match somehow.
Although... its ''cinquecento'' ? (which is the Italian version of ''five hundred'' )
