"Full moons make you crazy." full moons have been associated with odd or insane behavior, including sleepwalking, suicide, illegal activity, fits of violence and, of course, transforming into werewolves
The moon controls fertility. many early civilizations believed that the moon determined when women could become pregnant
The moon as a god or goddess. Selene/Luna from Greece/Rome, Tsukuyomi from Japan. In Hinduism, the moon god Chandra rides a chariot pulled by ten white horses
The Man in the Moon. One of the most common stories is about a man carrying sticks on his back. In England and Germany, folklore says he was punished for gathering wood on the Sabbath and sent to the moon as a warning to others.
Lunar eclipses: omens and warnings. The Inca thought a jaguar was attacking the moon, so they shouted and banged drums to scare it away. The Chinese imagined a dragon swallowing the moon and made loud noises to drive it off etc
