Is the wash cycle on laundry machines a little too long?

I don't know, I don't have kids, we are not talking about when you had crazy sex and the sheets are bloody, or stained, or when you went camping, and are covered in mud. The normal wash cycle, why does it assume that all of us a shit on our clothes?

Ours has a bunch of preset things around the dial. We have the normal cycle which is like 56 minutes to 1 hour and change. Depends on how much the machine senses in there and what temp you are washing your clothes on.

We also have a quick wash setting. It gets things clean as long as it isn't a huge load. I think it is somewhere between 30-38 minutes when I have used that setting. Again, it is about temp and what it senses for a load.

It's an extra rinse cycle to make sure the soap and lint comes out, silly. And usually the extra spin cycle runs to save on the extra $$$ and environmental cost of the dryer cycles.

My Italian roots don't allow me to use the dryer except for emergency time constraints and quilts... Everything air dries on the rack!

I put the clothes in the tub, add the soap and push the button. They I go away for a few hours. When I get back it's all done.

We preset our machine to about 47 minutes.
outside of the US…. Have seen dryers took 5 hrs to dry. Don’t get it
